R&B singer Usher can go back to focusing on his music career. New reports claim his publicized $20 million herpes lawsuit is possibly a thing of the past.

According to new reports, Ush appeared to have reached a settlement with accuser Laura Helm.

According to court docs, Laura filed to dismiss her suit earlier this week because she and Usher have “reached an amicable resolution.” The dismissal was filed with prejudice … meaning it can’t be refiled, and that’s typically done when there’s been a financial settlement. You’ll recall, Helm sued the singer back in 2017 … claiming he had exposed her to the virus when they had unprotected sex. She initially sued for $10 million, then upped it to $20 milfor emotional harm and punitive damages. (TMZ)

Back in 2017 – after months of legal battling – the lawsuit initially faded to black.

Laura Helm filed a $20 million lawsuit against the singer, claiming he had unprotected sex with her and transmitted the disease. She had a problem — she told someone on a recorded phone call 2 days before the suit was filed that she only had protected sex with Usher. Helm’s lawyer withdrew from the case and Helm got a new attorney, who immediately filed legal docs to dismiss the case. It is, however, dismissed without prejudice, “with intent to refile.” It’s unclear why her lawyer made the move to dismiss. (TMZ)

In August 2017, Usher herpes accuser Quantasia Sharpton publicly revealed receiving multiple death threats since accusing the singer of a sexual encounter.

In the past, West Coast rapper Game came to Usher’s defense amid the Internet blowing him up with trolling.

“What people need to realize is, people need to stop worrying about other people’s lives. Most of the people out here talking sh*t and all this sh*t, they probably got herpes too. It is what is is. I ain’t saying Usher’s got this or he got that. Get off his nuts. Literally.” (TMZ)
