Travis Scott’s ‘Astroworld’ Festival Confirmed for 2019

Words by: Kevin Keise

If you weren’t one of the 40,000 people in attendance for Travis Scott’s first-ever Astroworld Fest this year, don’t worry, you’ll have a shot next year. Yesterday, the festival’s official website confirmed it. When you visit Astroworldfest.com, the first thing you’ll see a big message that reads, “Thank You Houston, See You Next Year.” While there is no line-up or ticket information available yet, you can sign up for updates by leaving your email and phone number. This information will serve you well because this year’s festival sold out before Travis announced his star-studded line-up.

The Astroworld Fest is a one-day music festival created by the Houston native Cactus Jack himself. The purpose of the festival is to bring back the beloved spirit and nostalgia of the famous amusement park, Astroworld. For those who are unfamiliar with Astroworld, it was Houston’s main attraction for kids before being closed down for good in 2005. Travis Scott dedicated his entire third studio album to the theme park, which he promised to bring back. Astroworld has reached platinum status, and because of the success of the festival, the Mayor of Houston, Sylvester Turner, declared November 19 as “Astroworld Day.”

There’s no official date for when the festival will return, but more than likely the festival will be during the weekend of “Astroworld Day.”
