Too $hort has a new album on the way.
The Oakland, CA rapper recently hosted The Pimp Tape album listening party at Sapphire 39 Gentleman’s Club. Attendees dazzled in the nature of seductive entertainment, while Too $hort’s new album blasted through the speakers. The club’s ambiance complemented both the album’s sound and vibe.
The Empire rapper taps into his West Coast roots for a number of guest appearances on The Pimp Tape, such as Ty Dolla $ign, G-Eazy and E-40. Both G-Eazy and E-40 are Bay Area natives, similar to $hort. Other featured artists include T.I., 2 Chainz, Snoop Dogg, DJ Khaled and more.
According to the “Blow The Whistle,” rapper California and Las Vegas are his least favorite places to go to strip clubs. He prefers to go to strip clubs in “Atlanta, Miami, and Texas.”
Due to the popularity and nature of the business, the South has always been renowned for its dance presence. Rappers have often corroborated the same notion.
Earlier this week, Too $hort performed his timeless hit “Blow The Whistle” at Tidal’s #Reform concert during Anderson .Paak’s set. The moment celebrated a young artist paying homage to an OG.
During his recent Breakfast Club interview, $hort explains the message behind putting out an album as a Hip-Hop veteran.
“I think (its) bigger than just putting out an album,” said the Bay Area native, “it’s (about) the OGs (still) making music.”
The Cali rapper continues to bridge the gap between the young lil’s and the older OGs. The Tidal Reform cameo is a prime example of this as well.
Whether it’s strip club culture or enjoying the process of making music, Too $hort continues to contribute to the progression of the culture he loves. The Pimp Tape will be available on November 9.
