The Game is feeling sorry for 6xi9ine.
While the two have had their issues in the past, the Compton rapper says he feels bad for the embattled Tekashi, who testified about fellow rappers and his former crew, the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods, as part of his cooperation with the federal government.
“I feel sad for that kid,” Game told TMZ. “I feel sad for a lot of kids getting into this shit and don’t know what they’re doing, claiming to be something that they’re not.”
But while he understands he’s in a desperate situation, he still doesn’t condone his snitching. “At this point, I guess he gotta do what he gotta do to save himself, but snitching ain’t the way, patna,” added Game.
6ix9ine was facing a minimum of 47 years behind bars, but according to Game, that doesn’t warrant his snitching. “If you gon’ do the crime, you gotta do the time,” he said. “I don’t care how long it is. We ain’t snitchin’ out here.”
As far as his career is concerned, Game is not sure how he will be received once he’s released. “I don’t even know what these kids is doing these days with this music, so maybe they condone the snitching, but my generation ain’t fuckin’ with that.”
Game and Tekashi previously sparred on social media. During a 2018 concert, Game called the rainbow-haired rapper a “fake-ass Blood.”
Others including 50 Cent, Snoop Dogg, and Meek Mill have slammed 6ix9ine for snitching and clowned him on social media with memes. “After you do shit like that, you’re your mama’s child. Don’t call me,” said 50, while Meek tweeted, “Message of the day don’t be a internet gangsta … be yourself!”
