The celebration of Travis Scott recapturing the number one spot on the Billboard 200 for albums spread across the Internet but it appears premature. It was believed Scott held off the debut of Tekashi 6ix9ine’s DUMMY BOY, but now Nielsen details 6ix9ine deserves the top spot.
A representative for the company contacted Hits Daily Double to adjust the report, citing an error in the sales count, resulting in DUMMY BOY actually taking the top spot on the charts.
“Our team has done a deep dive and found the cause of the initial discrepancy,” said Drew Bennett of Nielsen. “We’ve since then reprocessed the jobs necessary and re-finalized the charts. As a result, 6ix9ine’s DUMMY BOY will be moving to #1… Our team is working quickly to identify the root cause of this discrepancy to ensure that we get it right the first time.”
The initial figure reported for Tekashi 6ix9ine was 70,000 units. We will soon see the adjustment in figures.
Meanwhile, Travis Scott’s “Sicko Mode” is the number one single on the Billboard Hot 100.
