Top Dawg Entertainment boss Punch is having a tough time dealing with Jussie Smollett‘s Chicago attack. The hip-hop executive has stepped up to consider the growing possibility of the “Empire” star staging his assault.
Punch went to social media this weekend to keep it 100 on the Smollett situation.
STRAIGHT FACTS…. gotta let everything come out and still want to support @JussieSmollett but if he did stage the attack. SMH – feels like something really out of @EmpireFOX or even #RayDonovan @iamstillpunch #SOHHNews pic.twitter.com/5vLwrVyrLE

Smollett has already lawyered up amid growing drama surrounding his Chi-Town attack.
Jussie Smollett has hired Michael Cohen’s criminal defense lawyer, the attorney confirmed this week, amid the deepening mystery of the “Empire” actor’s claim that he was the victim of a hate attack. “Yes, at the moment, I am,” Michael Monico, a former federal prosecutor in Illinois’ Northern District, told WGN’s “The Roe Conn Show” on Thursday. Despite the speculation, police are not caving into reports suggesting Smollett might have staged the attack.
“Interrogations will resume today with the two individuals and their attorney,” department spokesman Anthony Guglielimi said in a statement to The Times on Friday. Guglielmi again denied reports alleging that the attack was a hoax and reiterated that Smollett is being treated as a victim. “While we haven’t found any video documenting the alleged attack, there is no evidence to say that this is a hoax,” Guglielmi said. “The alleged victim is being cooperative at this time and continues to be treated as a victim, not a suspect.” (Los Angeles Times)
