Tay-K 47 Found Guilty of Murder

Tay-K 47 was found guilty of murder and robbery on Friday (July 19).

The 19-year-old rapper, whose real name is Taymor McIntyre, showed no emotion as the verdict was read. McIntyre now faces between five and 99 years in prison in connection with the home invasion robbery that left one man dead and another injured, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

McIntyre had pleaded not guilty to capital murder in the death of Ethan Walker, 21, and to another count of aggravated robbery related to the shooting of Zachary Beloate, who was wounded but survived. He had also pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated robbery related to two other victims inside the house.

McIntyre was accused of participating in a home invasion robbery in Mansfield in July 2016. His attorneys argued that he only participated in the robbery, but was not armed, and had no idea that Walker would be killed by his co-conspirator, Latharian Merritt.

“It wasn’t part of the plan. The plan was robbery. Not killing,” Kearney told jurors during closing arguments.

Tay-K 47 is also charged in a second capital murder case and an aggravated robbery case that occurred after McIntyre cut off his ankle monitor and fled while on home arrest. McIntyre allegedly robbed and fatally shot Mark Saldivar, 23, at a Chick-fil-A in San Antonio in April 2017.

The following month, he allegedly attacked and robbed a 65-year-old man in Arlington’s Cravens Park. After a national manhunt, McIntyre was captured in New Jersey in June 2017.
