Takeoff Blamed For His Own Murder By Defendants In Wrongful Death Lawsuit

Takeoff's Solo Album 'The Last Rocket' Set for November Release

It’s been almost two years since the tragic death of Migos member and the court battle continues as to who was responsible for the 28-year-old superstar’s death. Now, it is being reported that one of the defendant’s in the wrongful death lawsuit is alleging that Takeoff was, at least in part, responsible for his own death and are seeking to get the lawsuit against their company dismissed.

Nine months following Takeoff’s murder, his mother, Titania Davenport, filed a million dollar lawsuit against the Houston venue where Takeoff, whose given name is Kirsnick Khari Tiquon Ball, was killed but now the owners of the venue want the lawsuit dismissed against them.

In the court filing, the Midway Companies, LLC stated, “Decedent Kirsnick Khari Tiquon Ball [TakeOff] failing to exercise ordinary care for his own safety.” BTO Billiards, the actual venue, followed in Midway’s footsteps, stating in the suit, “There is a reasonable probability that the occurrence in question as well as the damages complained of were proximately caused, in whole or in part, by unknown criminals who participated in unlawful gambling and/or the illegal possession of firearms.” They added, “Defendant is not liable to Plaintiffs because Plaintiff’s own acts or omissions proximately caused or contributed to Plaintiff’s injuries.”

Two men, Patrick Xavier Clark and Cameron Joshua, have been arrested and charged in Takoff’s death.

Joshua was arrested in Houston on November 22, 2022 and charged with felony unlawful carry of a weapon. The 16-year-old rapper, who goes by the name Lil Cam and is allegedly affiliated with J. Prince Jr.’s Mob Ties Records, is believed to have been in attendance at the private party where TakeOff was murdered.

Pharrell’s Family Files Wrongful Death Lawsuit Over His Cousin’s Fatal Police Shooting

Pharrell's Family Files Wrongful Death Lawsuit Over His Cousin's Fatal Police Shooting

Pharrell‘s family filed a wrongful death lawsuit in response to his cousin, Donovan Lynch, who was killed by a Black Virginia cop.

The 25-year-old was leaving a Virginia Beach restaurant when the officer confronted him. Police claim that Lynch had a firearm and it was recovered on the scene, but the officer’s body camera wasn’t activated.

The lawsuit notes that Lynch and a friend were at the restaurant when gunfire erupted and decided to leave as a result. That’s when officer Solomon Simmons approached them.

The suit claims that Simmons didn’t ask the victim for identification and didn’t mention that he was a law enforcement member.

“Immediately, unlawfully, and without warning, Officer Simmons fired his police-issued firearm at Mr. Lynch, shooting him twice and killing him,” the lawsuit says, as reported by NBC News. “At all relevant times, Mr. Lynch was not speaking or acting in a manner that would suggest that he posed any threat, let alone a deadly threat, to Officer Simmons or anyone else.”

Prior to Pharrell’s family filing the wrongful death lawsuit, the producer called for a federal investigation into his cousin’s fatal shooting.

“I had to speak at my cousin’s funeral, and was choked up with emotions,” he wrote in the social media post. “Too many unanswered City and State questions. Respectfully, I am calling for a Federal investigation. I also humbly ask that you all keep the family in prayer.”

Vanessa Bryant Reached Settlement For Wrongful Death Lawsuit With Company in Helicopter Crash

Vanessa Bryant Reached Settlement For Wrongful Death Lawsuit With Company in Helicopter Crash

Vanessa Bryant and the families of the other victims of the helicopter crash reached a joint settlement in the lawsuit filed against the pilot and company over the fatal crash that took Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna Bryant’s life.

Bryant and other families, along with the helicopter company and insurers, filed “joint notice of settlement and joint request to vacate discovery deadlines” in court Tuesday, per the report.

The terms of the settlement are confidential but they were seeking unspecified compensatory and punitive damages.

Vanessa Bryant and the families filed the lawsuit against Island Express Helicopters and pilot Ara Zobayan about a month after the accident.

The suit alleged that Zobayan failed “to use ordinary care in piloting the subject aircraft.”

Bryant alleged in her lawsuit that the helicopter company “authorized, directed and/or permitted a flight with full knowledge that the subject helicopter was flying into unsafe weather conditions,” and that the victims died “as a direct result of the negligent conduct of Zobayan.”

Hopefully this settlement helps Vanessa Bryant and the other families with their healing process.
