The same week, Khaled went to Instagram to geek out over his accomplishment and promised a big surprise once he hits platinum.

According to recent reports, Khaled’s recent record sales issues were directly connected to music publication Billboard for excluding some of his LP’s numbers.

DJ Khaled‘s reported anger about the sales of his album have nothing to do with the success of Tyler, the Creator, and it turns out his frustrations are actually with Billboard for allegedly choosing not to use a huge chunk of his sales and smashing his chances at a #1 album over a petty disagreement. Multiple sources familiar with the situation tell The Blast, Khaled’s “Father of Asahd” missed becoming the #1 album because over 100,000 album downloads for the hip-hop producer were “disqualified” over the running of a promotion that Billboard said “was not approved.” (The Blast)

According to initial reports, Khaled low-key had a major blow-up at Epic Records when his newest compilation album didn’t debut at No. 1.

Multiple music sources told Page Six that the rapper and producer is fuming at his label after his ballyhooed new album, “Father of Asahd,” failed to debut at the top of the charts. “He stormed into Epic with an entourage,” a source said. And when projections showed his new record looked likely to come in second, “he was angry and yelling. He threw a temper tantrum,” blaming the also-ran album placing on his label chiefs’ not understanding streaming services and bundle deals. (Page Six)

DJ Khaled’s Alleged Frustrations Aimed At Billboard – Not Tyler, The Creator

DJ Khaled

We The Best CEO DJ Khaled doesn’t have smoke for Tyler, the Creator. New reports claim the hip-hop hitmaker’s alleged explosion over Father of Asahd narrowly missing a chart-topping debut had nothing to do with the Odd Future leader.

A new reports claims Khaled’s issues are directly connected to Billboard for excluding some of his LP’s numbers.

A second source, who also described how the disappointed DJ did not hold back his displeasure, added, “No. 2 won’t do for Khaled. He was not happy when the album didn’t debut at No. 1 . . . Not happy at all.” An industry insider added: “He was furious. There was some nasty stuff said. Publicly, he’s all about ‘positivity,’ but there is a mean side to him that people don’t see . . . He overhyped the record and blew it up as his biggest album ever.” (Page Six)

Despite the negative story, Khaled has continued to live his best life promoting the LP across social media.

DJ Khaled Might Have Blew Up On His Label After FATHER OF ASAHD Missed No. 1 Debut – “He Stormed Into Epic”

DJ Khaled

We The Best CEO DJ Khaled really can’t handle not being the best – allegedly. New reports claim the hitmaker blew up on Epic Records after his new Father of Asahd LP missed debuting atop its competition.

According to new reports, Khaled low-key had a major blow-up at the iconic label when his newest compilation album didn’t debut at No. 1.

The album ultimately debuted on the Billboard sales chart behind rapper Tyler, the Creator‘s IGOR album.

He made seven different music videos, all of which looked pretty expensive, and he released them all within the first week. And yet DJ Khaled did not get a #1 album for his efforts. Father Of Asahddebuted at #2 on Billboard’s album charts, edged out by Tyler, The Creator’s Igor. And Khaled, it seems, was not happy about this. (Stereogum)

As DJ Khaled preps his tenth LP he is again connecting with NIKE to his wave. He has unveiled a pair of limited-edition We The Best sneakers.

Just as he did with Grateful in 2017 the Miami personality is dropping some more themed sneakers as part of his album roll out. Yesterday (Monday, September 24) he made the formal announcement via his Instagram account. “#FANLUV THE MOMENT YOU ALL HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!! THE “FATHER OF ASAHD 3’S” AND “ANOTHER ONE 3’S” ARE HERE!!”

This time Billy is doubling up for the culture with the “Father Of Asahd 3’s” and the “Another One 3’s”. Both sets feature plush blue colorways but with subtle differences in material. As Sneaker News reports the “Asahd 3’s” carry a suede upper panel with a grey outsole while the “Another One 3’s” are leather with a matching outsole. Additionally Jordan enthusiasts will be pleased to know that both versions stick to the original Jordan 3 silhouette.

As expected these feet pieces will be extremely limited in production so your sneaker plug will most likely be useless. Thankfully there is a raffle in place for fans to win them a pair with bonus entries offered for referrals. You can enter the drawing here. More photos of the shoes are found below.

As per his post fans not in the Los Angeles area will also be afforded a chance to score the limited-edition feet pieces via WeTheBestStore.com. Anyone who cops the album t-shirt bundle online will also be entered in the drawing.

While the details on the shoe have yet to be confirmed, a closer look of the teaser visual shows the silhouette of the Jordan 3 which leads us to believe he will be remixing that classic in particular. This is not the first time The Four host has collaborated with Nike for a shoe. For his previous LP Khaled released the Air Jordan 3 “Grateful” to a limited number of lucky winners. It now sells for upwards of $20,000 dollars on the resale market.
