Beyoncé fans have been eagerly anticipating the release of her three-act project, and recent comments from singer, songwriter, and producer The Dreamhave sparked even more excitement.
‘MY HOUSE’
During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday, Jan. 9, The Dream opened up about his collaboration with Beyoncé on Renaissance. The singer-songwriter discussed his challenges in crafting the track “MY HOUSE,” which was prominently featured in Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé.
The concert-documentary film delved into the creation of Queen Bey’s record-breaking Renaissance World Tour, which was released on Dec.1. Dream stated:
“How do we wrap Renaissance up in a way without also trying to compete with it or make something that’s light-Renaissance, because Renaissance is a special thing?”
Dozens of fans were excited to hear of the news of a possible release of “ACT 2,” as one user named @TonyTh3King wrote, “Most folks ain’t picked their Renaissance wigs up off the floor yet. You know I’m ready tho sis @Beyonce let’s go!”
ACT 2?
However, some fans believe that others are being rather ‘delusional.’ One user named @StevenKlenk wrote, “Maybe I’m delusional but am I the only one that thinks that they would have said “how do we wrap up THE Renaissance” if they really meant they were wrapping up the era? To me this sentence reads “how do we wrap up Renaissance” (a film by Beyonce) since it’s the credit song, idk.”
Queen Bey herself has referred to Renaissance as “ACT I,” hinting at the existence of subsequent acts. In a 2022 message preceding the release of her seventh studio album, she wrote:
“This three act project was recorded over three years during the pandemic. A time to be still, but also a time I found to be the most creative.”
R.I.P. Tina Turner
Additionally, rumors have surfaced that the “CUFF IT” singer will be performing a tribute to the late Tina Turner at this year’s 66th Annual Grammy Awards. Although the news has been confirmed by the Today Show, Beyoncé has yet to make an official announcement.
‘The Book of Clarence’ Soundtrack
While Beyoncé’s devoted fans eagerly await “ACT 2” of her Renaissance, other artists have also returned to music. Neo-soul icon D’Angelorecently returned after an eight-year hiatus, collaborating withJay-Zon the soundtrack for the thought-provoking film Book of Clarence.

Ludacris, the Atlanta rap legend is making headlines once again. He responded to comedian Katt Williams‘ shocking allegations about him being a member of the Illuminati.
Crossroads
Ludacris took to his social media accounts on Jan. 4 to showcase his freestyling skills and shut down the claims made by Katt Williams.
The rapper/actor wasted no time in addressing Williams’ recent Jan. 3 Club Shay Shay podcast interview, where Williams claimed that Ludacris had made a deal with the Illuminati. According to Williams, the alleged deal involved Ludacris starring in 20 movies for a whopping $200 million.
“So there was a crossroads where we were both invited to an Illuminati thing, and it had to be one or the other of us and decisions had to be made,” Williams said. “So it was both of us, we were equal. One of us had to cut off all their hair and couldn’t do the sideburn thing no more, with the points.”
He continued:
“And the next person they said was going to get $200 million because they were going to pay him $10 million a movie to do 20 movies. And that’s how the conversation happened. One of those persons turned out to be Ludacris, and the other person turned out to be Katt Williams.” Ludacris is a member of the Fast & Furious series, which has 10 movies.
Ludacris Responds
Katt Williams also took a shot at Luda for saying he “ended up with a light-skinned ugly-face wife.” Ludacris responded with a not-so-subliminal freestyle over Kanye West’s “Devil in a New Dress” beat.
In his response, Ludacris made it clear that he has never been associated with the Illuminati, stating, “Never been Illuminati, only Ill-Luda-nati.” He also emphasized his commitment to his family, rapping:
“Now I’m married with kids, the evolution of life.” Ludacris effortlessly shut down any notion of him being a clout-chaser, asserting, “Never been a clout-chaser, never say sh*t for likes.”
But Ludacris didn’t stop there. He also took a dig at Williams over his alleged drug use. Referencing the late director John Singleton, Ludacris rapped:
“R.I.P. John Singleton, you never have to flex when you earned every one of your ‘Fast & Furious’ checks. Addiction’s on the rise, comedians check your temperature.” It was a direct hit aimed at Williams’ personal struggles.
Users on Twitter (X) reacted to Ludacris’ freestyle. One user named @MrJeromeTrammel commented, “ Luda you ate this rap up, but we STILL believe Katt Williams,” and one other user named @JoshyBeSloshy used a GIF that said “Nah that ain’t it y’all.”
Katt Williams has not publicly responded directly to Ludacris’s freestyle at this time.

Not one to miss an opportunity for some playful banter, the Me Time star took a direct swipe at Katt Williams in the trailer. Referring to a scene where actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw says:
“They Really Love You,” Hart humorously stated, “@gugumbatharaw [Gugu Mbatha-Raw] says ‘They Really Love You’… I now know she’s talking about ‘Katt.’ Mark yo calendars world!!!! This one is SPECIAL!!!!”
Following Hart’s response, fans flooded the comment section with their opinions on the ongoing feud and the trailer.
One user named @PRBUchiha couldn’t help but take a shot at Hart, commenting, “Katt Williams put you in a blender.” Another user named @queennaturally expressed disappointment in Hart’s recent work, stating, “Kevin, you’re not even funny anymore. Especially because you’re so eager to appeal to a YT[white] audience now. The movie is probably as corny as your comedy is nowadays.”
The Infamous Interview
The animosity between Hart and Williams stems from an interview Williams gave on the Club Shay Shay podcast, released on January 3.
Williams referred to Hart as an “industry plant,” asserting that he had not put in the same years of work performing at comedy clubs as himself and other comedians. Williams also called out comedians Cedric The Entertainer, Steve Harvey, Rickey Smiley, and others in the interview.

Katt Williams Calls Out Cedric The Entertainer, Steve Harvey, Kevin Hart & More In Fiery Interview
In an interview on the Club Shay Shay podcast released on Jan. 3, Williams vented about Cedric The Entertainer stealing one of his jokes from the past.
According to Williams, Cedric believed he could get away with it since Williams was a relatively unknown comedian at the time.
“He thought that I was just a no-name comedian and that he could take this joke and nobody would know. The issue was that I had already done this particular joke on BET’sComicView twice. It had done so well… that they made it part of the commercial,” Williams said.
Williams added:
“This is not just a random joke, this is my best joke…it’s my closing joke. 1998, I’m doing this joke…Cedric comes to The Comedy Store, he watches me in the audience, he comes backstage, he tells me what a great job I did and how much he loves the joke. Two years later, he’s doing that as his last joke on The [Original] Kings Of Comedy and he’s doing it verbatim, he just changed my car into a spaceship.”
WIlliams was referencing the comedy special movie, The Original Kings of Comedy. Williams also took a shot at Cedric by saying he looks like a walrus.
Cedric The Entertainer Responds
Cedric The Entertainer later responded to Williams on Instagram:
“Revisionist history, regardless of whatever Katts opinion My career can’t be reduced to One Joke Katt Williams claims as his, I been [in] over 40 movies, my specials and brand speaks volumes for [who] i am. The ppl I have put on including ‘Kat in the Hat’ At the Gibson Amphitheatre. And all that tough talk Is corny af Im [a] grown ass man. And none of that sh*t gonna go like you think. You do you and I got this over here.”
Katt Williams additionally called out Steve Harvey, Cedric’s co-star in The Original Kings of Comedy, accusing him of being involved in the joke Cedric allegedly stole. Williams claimed that the shared joke, originally crafted with comedian Mark Curry, was also appropriated by Harvey:
“This is the same Steve that went to go watch Mark Curry do his whole sitcom and then stole everything Mark Curry had. Now Steve got a sitcom where he’s the principal and he wear a suit.” The sitcom in question was The Steve Harvey Show and Curry’s Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper.
Users on Twitter (X) reacted to Williams’ explosive interview. One user named @Teewhyfene commented “Katt Williams a legend and I’m happy he gets to get his truth heard,” and one other user named @Thats_wildddd commented, “He damn sure aint lyin Cedric never ever been funny to me and really just rode off the coat tails of all the other comedians in that “kings of comedy.”
Katt Williams Calls Out Rickey Smiley
Additionally, Williams targeted Rickey Smiley, debunking Smiley’s claims that he was originally cast as Money Mike in the movie Friday After Next. Williams accused Smiley of lying and mockingly criticized his acting skills. Williams questioned why Smiley had not been offered significant movie roles in recent years, stating:
“Rickey Smiley can’t act because Rickey Smiley can’t act.”
Unsurprisingly, Kevin Hart also found himself in Williams’ line of fire. Williams referred to Hart as an “industry plant,” insinuating that Hart’s rise to fame lacked the long underground career typically associated with successful comedians.
“In 15 years in Hollywood, no one in Hollywood has a memory of going to a sold-out Kevin Hart show and being in line for him getting a standing ovation at any comedy club. What do you think a plant is?”
Williams said as he raised his voice. Williams also said that he is tired of the narrative of him being “bitter and jealous” during his comedy hiatus.
The full interview is now available on YouTube.

“I see that in most people.. like Megan Thee Stallion embodies a lot of what Pimp represented. I think that’s why it was so jarring for people to see it coming from a woman.”
Pimp C & Meg
Pimp C, a member of UGK alongside Bun B, passed away in 2007 at the age of 33 due to an overdose on codeine and promethazine, leaving a lasting impact on the Houston hip-hop scene.
Megan Thee Stallion has been vocal about the influence the late artist has had on her artistry. She often references Pimp C and his impact on the Houston hip-hop scene, where her alter ego, Tina Snow, is a nod to Pimp C’s Tony Snow persona.

KRS-One shared his displeasure with the Grammys in a recent interview. The rap legend discussed the recent 50th-anniversary celebration, A GRAMMY Salute to 50 Years of Hip-Hop, and why he declined his invitation.
KRS-One Talks The Grammys
In an interview with Harold St. Louis on Dec. 12, KRS-One explained why he turned down a personal invite from fellow rap legend LL Cool Jto perform at A GRAMMY Salute to 50 Years of Hip-Hop, which took place on Sunday, Dec. 10.
Hip-Hop ‘Ignored For 49 Years’
KRS-One says he refused to attend because the award show “ignored hip-hop for 49 years”:
“I was asked about two months ago; they asked me to do it and I turned them down,” he said. “With all due respect, LL Cool J J himself called me, spoke to my wife and pretty much begged for me to be on the show but we turned him down. And reason being is because I know people don’t understand this , and I say this respectfully. KRS-One is a Hip Hop extremist. I’m not violent, a violent extremist. I’m insane with this culture. I know I must have lost my mind in this.”
The hip-hop legend continued to go in-depth on his bone to pick with the Grammys:
“I restrict myself in a certain way, because I know who I am in this culture. Never will you ever see me standing in the environment where our culture is being exploited.” He then added, “So when I got the call, I immediately said nah. First of all, it’s the Grammys? You get no respect here. None. Now we respect your existence, we know you exist. And we know that you’re the Grammys and we understand that and we respect that. But you ignored Hip Hop for 49 years. At the 50th year, you wanna call us? You couldn’t even call on 47 and gear it up to 50. You wait to the 50th year to call Hip Hop’s authentic teacha? Nah, you don’t get that privilege.”
Hip-Hop Boycotts The Grammys
The Grammys has a history of being accused of “ignoring” or “disrespecting” hip-hop for decades.
One notable boycott was in 1989 when Will Smith, who went by his rap name The Fresh Prince, and DJ Jazzy Jeff decided not to attend the Grammys that year after noted and won the award for “Best Rap Performance.” The Grammys told the duo that their award presentation would not be televised, and they thought it was disrespectful.
Other rappers such as Salt-N-Pepa, LL Cool J, and executive Russell Simmons among others, followed suit and supported the hip-hop boycott.
KRS-One Talks Israel-Palestine Conflict
In other news, KRS-One also shared his thoughts on the conflict between Israel and Palestine. In an interview with SOHH, KRS-One felt that both sides were wrong, but Israel shouldn’t own Palestinian land.
Nicki Minaj Goes Off On The Grammys
Another rapper who spoke out against the Grammys was rap superstar Nicki Minaj. In an Instagram live, she argued that her song, “Super Freaky Girl,” was nominated in the wrong category, but was eventually completely left out.
