Nintendo’s success with their mini consoles is definitely having an effect on the video game world. First Sega announced its Mega Drive (Genesis) mini, and now Sony is throwing its name in the hat with the PlayStation Classic Mini Console.

Its been almost 25 years since the groundbreaking home console, the PlayStation was first introduced to the world. The console was an instant hit with gamers eventually becoming the first console to ship over 100 million units offering for the first time the chance to play 32-bit games with real-time 3D rendered graphics in the comfort of their homes.

If you are one of those gamers who wanted to get that feeling again of pressing that power button and seeing the iconic load up screen Sony has good news for you. Today the company announced its new retro console, the PlayStation Classic and it’s gorgeous. The console perfectly emulates the original and is approximately 45% smaller than the original PlayStation console. It also comes with two classic controllers, an HDMI cable to connect with today’s televisions, USB cable. Don’t worry no physical memory cards will be necessary, the system will have a virtual memory card to save your game data.

As far as what games will come with the system, it will come pre-loaded with 20 classic PlayStation games, fan-favorites such as Final Fantasy VIIJumping FlashRidge Racer Type 4Tekken 3, and Wild Arms is among classic titles that will return with the retro console.

The PlayStation Classic will launch on December 3rd, 2018, the same day the original console hit shelves in Japan back in 1994. As far as cost, it will only run you $99.99 and is now available for pre-order at select retailers such as GameStop and Best Buy. So you better move fast cause you know this bad boy is going to sell out quickly. We just hope Sony handles this release a bit better unlike Nintendo when they first introduced the NES Classic.

Twitter Reacts To ‘Mario Kart’ & Toad Trending For All The Wrong Reasons #MarioKart

Twitter Reacts To Mario Kart & Toad Trending For All The Wrong Reasons

Source: Keith Tsuji / Getty

Yup, it is confirmed anything associated with the orange menace, Donald J.Trump does indeed either die or is ruined. Today (Sept. 18), Twitter users learned not even their favorite Nintendo game is safe from the slimy tentacles of our “President.”

Folks hopped on Twitter today and saw the fan-favorite Nintendo racing game Mario Kart and the popular character Toad trending thinking they were getting a new game. Their excitement quickly turned to disgust when they learned that adult actress and one of Trump’s mistresses Stormy Daniels used the game and the character to describe his man parts.

The Twitter account for Nintendo Life didn’t quite pick up on the moment and tweeted prematurely that the game and character were both trending on the social media platform. They have since issued an apology blaming a social media intern joking “he will be collecting covfefe for the rest of the week!”

While the cat is now out of the bag and we will never be able to look at Toad the same ever again, the reactions to users searching Mario Kart is absolutely hilarious. We may not be getting a new game in the famed racing video game franchise, but we definitely got a classic Twitter moment.

#AboutTime: Twitter Going Back To Purely Chronological Timelines

Twitter Announces Return To Purely Chronological Timelines

Source: Oli Scarff / Getty

Twitter has heard your cries about your out of order timelines and decided it’s time to go back to the way things used to be.

Yesterday (Sept.17) the popular social media platform and announced in a series of tweets and on its blog that it’s going back to purely chronological timelines. The move will surely be welcomed, especially by users who have been complaining about Twitter fooling around with the order of their feeds by inserting tweets they think users would care about or showing tweets “liked” by people they follow.

Twitter billed the switch back to chronological timelines as another way to give its users “more control over their timelines.” The new feature can apparently be turned on and off but when activated will show you tweets they think you would most likely want to see on top of your timeline still recent and in reverse chronological order.

Per Twitter:

“Here’s how it works. You flip on the feature in your settings; then when you open Twitter after being away for a while, the Tweets you’re most likely to care about will appear at the top of your timeline – still recent and in reverse chronological order. The rest of the Tweets will be displayed right underneath, also in reverse chronological order, as always. At any point, just pull-to-refresh to see all new Tweets at the top in the live, up-to-the-second experience you already know and love.”

It’s a step in the right direction for Twitter deciding to go back to one of its older features that made the app a favorite among social media users. It also should help the company continue its upward trend, the company reported its first profit back in February despite Twitter’s user base not growing.

Hey, Instagram you should be taking notes here.

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is still about a month away, but we already got details as to what to expect from the game going forward once it launches.

Today (Sept.13) Ubisoft announced its post-launch plans for next installment in the famed video game franchise. Odyssey is already a completely different and unique Assassin’s Creed game in itself being that it’s taking more of a roleplaying game route and to hammer that home the game will be introducing a brand new episodic format.

Season pass owners will experience a constant flow of episodic adventures that will be split up between two story arcs. Each arc will be broken up into three episodes each and released roughly every six weeks. Keeping with Odyssey’s focus on player choice, you can either choose to play each one as they release or tackle them all entirely at one time.

  • Story Arc 1 – Legacy of the First Blade: This episodic adventure will introduce players to the first hero to wield the iconic hidden blade, changing the course of history. Players will learn more about the backstory of the Assassins and why they choose to fight from the shadows. Starting December 2018, episodes will be released approximately six weeks apart.
  • Story Arc II – The Fate of Atlantis: In the second story arc, players will confront godly creatures and uncover the secrets of the legendary sunken city. In a surprising saga filled with twists and turns, players will get even closer to Greek mythology and the First Civilization. Coming spring 2019, episodes will be released approximately six weeks apart.

Now if you don’t have a season pass don’t worry, there will be plenty of free content as well. Ubisoft will also be launching in-game challenges and events that give players access to unique armor, weapons, and new epic ships as well as The Lost Tales of Greece, which are free episodic stories that will be released between the more prominent post-launch episodes listed above.

But wait there is more, season pass owners will also receive Assassin’s Creed III fully remastered and fully loaded in which focused on Native American assassin Conner and his story during the American Revolution. Also, Assassin’s Creed Liberation Remastered initially launched on the PS Vita that told the story of Aveline de Grandpré an assassin of African and French heritage will be coming to consoles and PC fully remastered.
