Fabolous Uses The Bulls Theme Music To Show He’s The Jordan Of Rap (Video)

Fabolous is well known for his various mixtapes series, including There Is No Competition, The S.O.U.L. Tape, and Summertime Shootouts. On Friday (November 29), he released the third and final volume of Summertime Shootouts, subtitled Coldest Summer Ever. Interestingly, even though these drops are named for the hot season, they always seem to drop in the Fall. As ‘Loso recently told Drink Champs during a rare interview (embedded below), the tapes are about recreating those unmistakable NYC warm weather vibes, regardless of when they reach fans. The first video single from this project, “Ooh Yeah,” featuring Ty Dolla $ign, dropped in the Summer of 2018. To celebrate the long-awaited full release, he now gives fans a video for “B.O.M.B.S.” to accompany the collection of tracks. He hasn’t dropped a full-length project since his collaborative album with Jadakiss in 2017, Friday On Elm Street, so he uses this single as an opportunity to reassert his lyrical dominance. Lil’ Kim & Fabolous Are The Brooklyn Bonnie & Clyde (Video) Over a Streetrunner beat that samples the Chicago Bulls’ theme song, Loso goes off. His first two dozen bars are a prime example of Freddy at his best, “Back on my bullsh*t / Back to back on my bullsh*t / Matter fact that was bullsh*t / I’m goin’ back to back to back on my bullsh*t / Do it one time they gon’ think it’s luck / Gotta hit ’em with the repeat / Do it two times they gon’ still doubt / Ay, now I got a three-peat / Gotta flood the streets ’til they knee deep / Gotta stay woke can’t be sleep / All this fly sh*t don’t be cheap / All these bad b*tches that we keep ’round / Pockets gotta be deep now / Never lose again, live in me deep down / Gotta keep winnin’ it’s a clean sweep now / Tell her back it up, you hit three beeps now / Big truck, lil’ b*tch / Call me Greek Freak, big bucks, lil’ b*tch / Paid in Full, lil’ Ace, lil’ Mitch / You a RICO, lil’ case, you’re a snitch.” This is trademark F-A-B wordplay. In the visual, the Street Family CEO wears a Bulls three-peat leather jacket, which reinforces his various basketball lines and references to his Lamborghini truck (which notably has a bull emblem). “I’m that bull in the hood / New Lamb’ truck, got the bull in the hood / Black and red lookin’ like the Bulls at the hood / 23’s on it, got the Bulls sitting good / This Game 6, this can’t miss / Shootin’ my shot, wrist hang, swish / Ice my sh*t like I just sprain this / Milli plain jane and that b*tch stainless / Look, money talk, shawty speakin’ this language / Buy her a car, she gon’ switch lanes quick / I got shut-up-money, I don’t explain sh*t / Do you wanna boss up, or just change shifts? / Pretty little jawn and she gets things lit / Baby got a crew on some Rich Gang sh*t / PNB and Meek muzzlin’ the same b*tch / If you look in her eyes, man that sh*t’s dangerous / On God, on the gang, on bros / No bullsh*t, you the one D. Rose / Pass me to Pippen…the long nose / Then it’s game over, the horn blows / This the last shot / You try’na be on the team or be the mascot? / Wanna be The First Lady or the last thot? / I’m payin’ Dwayne Wade but I flash knots / Whoa, I thought you could’ve been Jordan / Found out that you wasn’t even Ben Gordon / Next one get flewed out, I’m keepin’ them boardin’ / Like Toni Kukoc, I’m foreign, imported.” Royce 5’9, Jadakiss, Fabolous & Pusha-T’s Sizzling Bars Send Summer Off In Style (Video) Summertime Shootout 3: The Coldest Summer Ever also features Meek Mill, 2 Chainz, and Gucci Mane, among others. #BonusBeat: Fabolous’ recent appearance on Drink Champs. He discusses a onetime royalty dispute with Kid Cudi over 2010 hit “You Be Killin’ ‘Em,” his thoughts on fellow Brooklyn native Tekashi 6ix9ine, and how he admired Big Daddy Kane:

Cormega Drops 5 Songs Full Of Realness To Close Out 2018

Early in this decade, Cormega proved that one could still make major noise through the independent channel. The Queensbridge veteran accomplished more on his own than any famed label could seemingly do for the unique spitter. Throughout the last 20 years, Mega has fed his faithful fan-base with award-winning gems like The Realness and The True Meaning to incredibly introspective projects like Born and Raised and Mega Philosophy. Cormega never fails to deliver the real. Now, for the first time in four years, Mega is giving fans another vivid update of his life experiences through music.

MEGA is an abbreviated release as the title may suggest, but it packs a punch. On the song “Empty Promises,” Cory draws from his trademark well of lyrics about honor and betrayal – something he’s dealt with a lot personally and professionally. “A man with everything that lacks integrity is morally bankrupt,” he raps to open the song’s second verse. “You can’t buy dignity / The wilder side fools grasp for petty things / Words ain’t real if they lack sincerity / Those who never seek never find anything / My relentless pursuit got me seein’ better things.

On the more uplifting “Live Your Best Life,” Cormega stresses the importance of putting oneself first and the struggles of helping those who don’t want guidance. “When you been through the worst, learn from it / Every lesson is a blessin’ and a curse,” he raps on the track, which features an opening verse from Mobb Deep’s Havoc. “Every day a step closer to the essence / Live your best life, put yourself first / When you been through the worst, learn from it / Every lesson is a blessin’ and a curse.” For an MC known for working with DJ Premier, Large Professor, Hi-Tek, Pete Rock, Alchemist, and others, these sounds mark a change in direction. The beats favor pianos and synth above drums. This evocative lyricist found tracks to match his many moods.

Interestingly, the physical and DSP versions of MEGA include the instrumentals for all of the tracks on the EP. The entire project is available for streaming on all major platforms and for those who want to purchase it, CD, cassette and vinyl versions of Cormega’s latest can be purchased via Red Line Music Distribution.
