Sada Baby is no longer a lean sipper. Hitting Twitter, the rapper announced he is done with both lean and cigarettes. Why? in favor of sobriety, but also because it cost him $10,000 to $20,000 a week.
“Ain’t spent 10-20K a week on lean in longer than a year, ain’t bought over 5 perks int wo months,” Sada Baby wrote. “Ain’t smoke a cigarette in two months. Suck my dick n celebrate my sobriety”
In a conversation with TMZ, Sada Baby stated he was openly attempting to test how much he could do. You can visit here to hear more.
Sada Baby expresses remorse following the resurfacing of old tweets. The Detroit rapper recently teamed up with Nicki Minaj for the “Whole Lotta Choppas” remix. While the song took on a life of its own as a viral hit Minaj’s presence elevated the catchy tune’s trajectory. Just days after the song’s release, some tweets of his past were brought to the forefront. In those tweets from 2011, Sada Baby expressed drug rape, hate for dark-skinned people, and homophobia.
When the tweets resurfaced, Sada took to his IG to explain himself.
“Y’all kan find every and any old tweet in the world from me,” said the 27 year old rapper. “I don’t kare. I’m not even logged into my twitter and haven’t been for months.”
He later continued with a post on his Instagram feed saying:
“FYI @asylumrecords runs my Twitter so y’all tweeting them n not me.. I don’t have the twitter app on my phone. You gotta understand everybody ain’t removed from who they is. I’m f**ked up in the head kuz that’s how I was raised. God n my grandmas the only judges I care for.”
Initially Sada Baby he did not seem to be remorseful but took to Instagram later Tuesday night to express his apology and discontent of his past tweets regarding rape, colorism, and homophobia.
“I don’t stand on none of them views. Them views is not the Sada of today. You feel me? I’m grown, different…whole type of man that understand that s**t like that is not acceptable.”
There has been trouble in Young Money paradise for a while, but other than a few petty social media jabs and diss tracks, Nicki Minaj and Drake have been pretty tight-lipped about their feud.
But the Queen hopped on Sada Baby’s “Whole Lotta Choppas (Remix)” and said that she hopes she can have play dates with her son and Drake’s son, Adonis.
“Uh, he a freak like Giannis (Giannis) / To be honest, I hope one day we do a play-date with Adonis,” she rapped on the energetic beat.
Drake responded to Nicki on his Instagram story saying, “play dates soon come.”
The Young Money artists have seemingly been beefing ever since Nicki Minaj’s “FEFE” collaboration with Tekashi 6ix9ine. They haven’t been seen publicly since that time and Drake was not supportive when she was feuding with Travis Scott about ASTROWORLD and Queen’s album sales.
In fact, the Toronto rapper actually egged it on by heavily promoting ASTROWORLD, which he was featured on, but he didn’t promote his former labelmates’ album not once.
He has also been playing her rivals close like Cardi B and ex-boyfriend, Meek Mill.
Nicki Minaj remixed Drake and Meek’s “Going Bad” collaboration and called them out for dissing her. “I turn lemons into lemonade simply, dawg / Ole boy and my brother tryna end me, dawg,” she spit.
But that all appears to be water under the bridge, and the two are both parents after reigning in their respective lanes for the past decade.
Listen to Nicki Minaj deliver a fire verse while she’s 9 months pregnant.
It was not too long ago that Sada Baby was ready to quit rapping. Although the Detroit native had been chasing his dream for three years, he had yet to see the fruits of his labor. In 2016, he planned to walk on as a basketball player at Schoolcraft College in Livonia, MA. He enrolled and set on his pursuit, but would give music another chance. Sada Baby entered Imported from the D, a local rap competition in Detroit. The “Block Party” rapper won the competition after beating out 12 other rappers and it set the tone for the next three years.
Since 2016, Sada Baby has released four projects with a pending debut album on the way. He released Bartier Bounty, earlier this year under Asylum Records. He fed the streets with Whoop Tape most recently.
With lyrics like “I will do a Harlem Shake with the draco,” he captures the extroverted personality he possesses.
“Control the stage so good they comparing me to Elvis
But I aint like that ni**a ’cause that ni**a ain’t never sell s**t.”
Sada Baby looks to carry the same torch as those before him. Detroit has a rich history in Hip-Hop. From Eminem to Trick Trick to Big Sean and Tee Grizzley, Detroit certainly holds its place when defining the culture.
The rapper also known as Skuba is also a friend and collaborator of Tee Grizzley. The Grizzley Gang team linked up for Sada’s most recent single, “Next Up.” The video helped Sada Baby earn his first plaque from Youtube as well. The Grizzley Gang looks to build on “Next Up” with Sada’s upcoming album currently in the works.
Detroit star Sada Baby takes a trip out to the Bay to link up with rising star Ricky Styles for an in ya face new video called, “Caught A Baby”.
Directed by YT510 Filmz, the two new sensations address the haters with acts of violence and trendsetting rhymes. Playing off one another, Sada and Ricky impress with iced-out bars and designer fabrics. Don’t let the clothes fool you, the two are ready to get their hands dirty.
Gritty, money motivating, and so much more, the new video is the perfect follow up to Ricky Styles‘s previous effort, Troublemaker. “Caught A Body” is slated to appear on Styles upcoming effort, White Lines.
