Diddy Sells All Shares of Revolt TV to Mystery Buyer

Diddy Enters "The Love Era" With New Name Change

Diddy is no longer associated with Revolt TV, the culture and music-focused television network he founded in 2013. He is completely done and as TMZ claimed from their report, the network is under new ownership.

Now get this: sources in the know about the purported deal say the embattled mogul sold off all his shares to a mystery buyer for a sum that has not been disclosed. Now the word is the company in itself “remains Black-owned,” which is supposed to be aligned with, as TMZ puts it, upholding “its original connection and dedication to furthering the culture.”

It’s still hazy as to what Revolt was let go for regarding the sale, but one thing is clear: the new owner is keeping a low profile for now, and for good reason. There’s a lot of heat around the Sean Combs, with Monday’s raids by the feds, so now may not be the best time to announce a business deal of that magnitude for one of Diddy’s brands. Now, sources say that the owners or owners share a passion for Black culture, which is a broad statement, but they intend to introduce themselves formally in the coming weeks.

ICYMI, Diddy has been inactive with Revolt since he stepped down as Chairman in November. According to TMZ, the deal was amicable, and all the players involved are happy.

Interestingly, it appears the new owner is not cleaning the house, as Revolt’s CEO Detavio Samuels and Chief Brand Officer Deon Graham will both stay in their current roles to support the incoming boss, at least initially. Additionally, the report mentions that the incoming team is not doing any major shakeups with the existing staff or even how production is handled.

While the transition moves at a gradual pace, the new owner’s vision will take shape, but it seems like Revolt TV will look pretty much the same for now. Stay tuned.

[WATCH] Diddy Hosts Town Hall Meeting Endorsing Biden/Harris, Moderated By Charlamagne Tha God

As Diddy unveils his Biden-endorsed “Our Black Party” political platform, the legendary Bad Boy sat down with cultural pundit Charlamagne Tha God about the primary objective of the party in the 2020 election: to get Donald Trump out of office.

Diddy speaks very candidly about Trump’s “stand back and stand by” comment supposedly made concerning the extreme right-wing, while he is adamant that the upcoming election, which is less than 30 days away, is simply “a war between love and hate.”

“If Trump gets elected, I truly believe in my heart that there’s gonna be a race war.”

TIDAL, Revolt TV Pull Russell Simmons Drink Champs Interview Following Backlash

TIDAL, Revolt TV Pull Russell Simmons Drink Champs Interview Following Backlash

Both Revolt TV & Tidal are facing major scrutiny after fans caught wind of Russell Simmons discussing the importance of Black Lives Matter in an episode of Drink Champs.

Co-hosts, N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN, featured multiple guests discussing the topic of BLM movement. But this particular episode featured Rush, who faces multiple allegations of sexual assault. Following the episode, TIDAL promoted Simmon’s interview on social media in a partnership deal with Drink Champs.

This fueled journalist Sil Lai Abrams to call out the two brands while also speaking her mind:

“What in the entire hell are JAY-Z and TIDAL doing by giving Russell Simmons a platform to discuss #BlackLivesMatter,” Abrams wrote, responding to a since-deleted tweet from TIDAL promoting the episode and tagging Simmons.

Abrams along with two other women outlined the allegations against Simmons in the recently released HBO Max documentary On the Record.

Following the outpouring of feedback on social media, the Simmons-featured episode was ultimately removed from TIDAL.

The episode with Simmons included Talib Kweli, Bun B, Mysonne, and Marc Lamont Hill. Hill claims that he wasn’t told in advance who was scheduled to be on the show and said had he been warned earlier he wouldn’t have appeared. “During Russell’s 20ish minutes on the show, I was texting the producers telling them I was not comfortable with his press and asking to wrap up,” Hill wrote. “After the show, I expressed my frustration with what happened. I also asked them not to air Russell’s portions.”

In a response to Hill, N.O.R.E. tweeted in response to Hill’s comments saying: “I apologize for me not being fully aware of what was going on!!! I just wanted to put black men together who are powerful for a powerful convo !!! Moving forward I will be more aware of guests and who and how they are presented !!!”

Abrams then retweeted the comment, replying back with a clown and trashcan emoji.

Revolt TV Responds To Eminem Diss: ‘F**k You Too’

Eminem had some words for Diddy’s network, REVOLT TV and it wasn’t very kind.

Slim Shady recently joined Griselda rapper, Conway, on his newest track, “Bang.” Although Em’s final verse is pretty abrasive, a leaked version of his original verse recently surfaced. Let’s just say Em got some things off his chest in this one. The 47-year-old rap legend took shots at both Diddy’s REVOLT TV network and his former Slaughterhouse rapper, Joe Budden.

“Shoutout to Puff Combs, but f**k Revolt. Y’all are like a f**ked up remote. Now I get it why our button’s broke. Cause you pressing him but do nothing though, especially when it comes to punches thrown.”

The TV network took to their social media to give Slim the same energy.

Now back to our movement. ✊🏿

A post shared by REVOLT TV (@revolttv) on

There’s no word whether or not that came from the top down, but it certainly addressed the situation. Now they shift the focus “back to (our) the movement.”

Before hearing the next bar, one may question Eminem’s beef with Revolt TV despite showing love to its owner. He then shifts his attention to State of The Culture Host and REVOLT TV employee, Joe Budden. Shady then recalls Budden’s incident with the Migos back at the 2017 BET Awards pre-show.

“Tell this journalist stick to the stuff he knows, like always running from Migos,” raps Em.

In the infamous interview, Budden, a former Complex employee storms off the set and seemed annoyed with his interviewees. Quavo, Offset and Takeoff, didn’t take the disrespect lightly and red carpet security had to intervene.

Since then Joe and Migos have allegedly squashed any beef. Joe and Quavo was spotted for a photo-op at the tail end of last year.

Despite this, Eminem has no interest in reconciling with Joe Budden. As a result, he takes shots at his employer. Peep the song “Bang” here.
