Former Law Enforcement Officer Faces Backlash After Road Rage Altercation Turns Racial

race

Former law enforcement officer David Tupper is facing intense criticism on social media following a disturbing road rage incident. The allegations against Tupper involve breaking the side window of a black woman’s vehicle during a heated altercation, which ultimately took a racist turn.

The incident unfolded when a black woman, Denishia Lewis, found herself in a confrontation with Tupper, who was identified as a former law enforcement officer. The situation took a shocking turn when Tupper, inexplicably, decided to park his bicycle in the middle of the street while armed with a handgun, donning a uniform.

Denishia Lewis, who was simply trying to pick up her son from the bus stop, found herself stuck behind Tupper as he obstructed traffic. In an attempt to get Tupper to move, she tapped her horn, signaling that traffic had resumed and that he should continue pedaling. However, instead of complying, Tupper further agitated the situation. He moved his bicycle in front of her car, making her wait.

As Lewis attempted to pass him, Tupper accelerated, going so far as to punch and break her side mirror. He continued to stay in front of her, occasionally braking abruptly in an apparent attempt to provoke an accident. It was a series of reckless and dangerous actions, which left Lewis understandably frustrated.

Realizing the dangerous road rage situation, Lewis eventually managed to get around Tupper. She proceeded down the street, performed a U-turn, and returned to confront him for the damage he had caused. Her primary objective was to acquire his insurance information.

During the confrontation, Lewis began recording the interaction, capturing a portion of Tupper’s behavior on video. What ensued is nothing short of shocking, as Tupper embarked on a racist tirade, spewing offensive language.

The situation escalated quickly when a TikTok user, with the handle @TizzyEnt, alerted his 5.9 million followers to the incident. He appealed to the public for assistance in identifying Tupper, which quickly gained traction. Within a short period, Tupper was successfully identified by TikTok user Danesh.

The video of the altercation went viral within hours, exposing the racist behavior and actions of David Tupper to the world. The incident not only highlights the need for accountability and scrutiny of those in positions of authority but also underscores the significance of capturing and sharing incidents of discrimination for justice and reform.

Nick Cannon Claims Eminem Is A Product of Institutional Racism [Video]

Nick Cannon is still on his crusade to get Eminem out of here. He is now using his woke status to justify the cancellation.

Complex is reporting that the Wild ‘N Out host is going ten toes down on Slim Shady. In a recent interview with your culture vulture’s favorite culture vulture DJ Vlad he readdress the Detroit MC’s infamously bigoted and sexist but nearly forgotten audio footage of him disrespecting Black women. “If you listen to the entire song, it’s clearly a song where he’s blatantly disrespecting black queens. Not beating around the bush, what he said is, ‘Black girls are bitches, black girls are dumb. They only want your money.’”

Shortly after Vladimir added additional sauce to the conversation saying that is not the only track from Em’s past where he was out of pocket to which Nick replies “Yeah, where he’s saying n***a and all that shit.” The “Gigolo” rapper proceeded to break the incident down from a historical point of view.

“You know what the defense was? ‘He already apologized for that,’” he added. “Probably the weakest apology ever, ‘I was young and I had a black girlfriend who cheated on me and I was mad.’ … He’s sorry for his individual racism, definitely, I believe he’s sorry for saying for the things he said when he was younger. But he’s not sorry for institutional racism, because he’s a product of it.”

Later in the sit down Cannon speaks to the elephant in the room regarding Eminen’s appearance claiming the lyricist probably had plastic surgery. “Eminem doesn’t look the same as the way he once looked. The proof is in the pudding. It could be the years of drug use. You know, we don’t want to make fun of none of that. It seems like he’s on the right path but something going on. His sh*t’s getting tighter and tighter as the years go by.”

Pay Up: Prada Strikes Deal With City Of New York After Racism Scandal

Prada x adidas

Source: Prada / adidas

The Big Apple is asking one of the most iconic brands in history to pay like they weigh for a faux paux of grand proportions. Prada is moving forward with restitution to NYC for their cultural insensitivity.

Raw Story is reporting that luxury house is making good on what has been called one of the many racially clueless moves by the fashion industry. In December 2018 the Italian company released a set of items under their Pradamalia banner. The collection included pricey pieces such as key chains; the problem was some of the figures were black colored monkeys with red lips.

Naturally the campaign invoked “Black Face” imagery which did not sit well with people of color across the world resulting in the figurines being pulled. Prada quickly apologized in a formal statement. “The resemblance of the products to blackface was by no means intentional, but we recognize that this does not excuse the damage they have caused. We will learn from this and we will do better.”

That lesson will apparently come at a price. On Wednesday, February 5 a settlement was announced between the City of New York and Prada. According to the documentation Prada will coordinate racial equity training for their employees. Additionally they will launch a scholarship program “for people historically underrepresented in fashion”. A newly created Diversity Officer position will also appointed with approval from New York City’s Commission on Human Rights.

The last couple of years have been eye-opening for luxury fashion houses and consumers alike. Gucci infamously designed a turtle neck that also invoked sambo imagery months after being caught red handed stealing the original designs of Hip-Hop fashion pioneer Dapper Dan.

Trina Clears Up Walmart Incident: :I Didn’t Bump Her”

Trina on TMZ

Source: TMZ / TMZ

Dade County lyricist  Trina is speaking out about the incident that took place at a Florida WalMart earlier this week.

As previously reportedTrina was shopping at a Florida Walmart when an unnamed white woman allegedly called Trina a “n*gger b*tch”, leading Trina to verbally obliterate the racist. Earlier reports say that Trina bumped the lady, which made her cry. But Trina denies that report and spoke to TMZ to tell her side about what led up to the verbal beatdown.

According to Trina, she was minding her business and heard the woman crying from a different nearby section of the store and went to ask her if she was “ok”, that’s when Trina said things took a racist turn.

“I didn’t bump into her in the store, this lady was way across in the kid’s section, just shopping with clothes, and she was just crying,” Trina said. “ I just looked over and was like, ‘Oh, hi. Are you OK?’ And she looked up like a demon—demonic, very evil, satanic witch. And she was like, ‘Get away from me, you n*gger bitch.’”

Trina stated that it was at this point that her friend stepped in and demanded the woman apologize for calling Trina out of her name, but instead the woman continued to give more attitude.

“As I got to the register, my friend said, ‘You owe my friend an apology.’ And that’s when she just looked around acting belligerent,” Trina continued. “I said, ‘Say it again. You called me a n*gger, and I am a n*gger—one that will whoop your ass.’”

The diamond princess also offered up some advice for other racists out there who feel that the current administration gives them the liberty to be ignorant to people of color in public.

“This is not the 1800s. This is not the slavery days,” Trina said. “I live in that area, in a very nice area. I don’t do racial slurs — this is not gonna happen. We’re not slaves, and you’re gonna get your ass whooped—anybody next time that calls me anything outside of my name.”

Pyer Moss’ Kerby Jean-Raymond Slams ‘Business of Fashion’s’ Inclusivity, Mag Responds

Fashion’s go to trade magazine is under fire and for all the right reasons. One of the game’s hottest designers has them under pressure.

Hypebeast is reporting that Business of Fashion, the world’s leading trade publication on fashion, has admitted they have some work to do. Earlier this week the editorial staff announced their annual #BoF500, a list that names the top 500 most influential people. The lineup included Kerby Jean-Raymond, founder of menswear label Pyer Moss. He has since declined the recognition due to their insensitivity at their accompanying BoF‘s 500 in Paris and then some.

Raymond wrote a lengthy letter on Medium accusing the staff and industry as a whole of cultural appropriation. “Homage without empathy and representation is appropriation” he declared. “Instead, explore your own culture, religion and origins. By replicating ours and excluding us — you prove to us that you see us as a trend. Like, we gonna die black, are you.”

Naturally the intensive piece circulated quickly forcing Business Of Fashion editor-in-chief Imran Amed to respond.

Amed made it clear that Raymond is not alone. “Kerby has every right to voice his concerns and we respect his perspective. He is also right about several things. As Kerby points out, the fashion industry has often treated inclusivity as a trend, putting diverse faces in our ad campaigns, on our runways, on our magazine covers and, yes, at our parties because it’s cool and of the moment. But I can assure you that this topic is not a trend for BoF” he wrote.

Over the last year, several high-profile brands have been guilty of incorporating culturally insensitive imagery. This specifically caused Gucci to create more opportunities for people of color after their infamous sweater that resembled blackface imagery. You can read Amed’s formal response in full here.

Donald Trump “Who Do You Like More: The Country or The Hispanics?”

The Donald has placed his presidential foot in his mouth again…

Last week his “African-American,” Gregory Cheadle jumped ship because he believed he was being used as a pawn in race politics by the Trump administration. This week, he got himself his very own hispanic in Steve Cortes.

While campaigning in New Mexico, on Monday evening 45 tried desperately to connect with Latinx people during a rally. He severely needs the boost because according to a Washington Post poll. This month, the president’s approval rating in that community is extremely low, bottoming at a measly 25%.

Hoping to cozy up with his constituyentes, he pandered throughout his opening with a very weird  “Yesterday marked the beginning of the Hispanic Heritage Month—who’s Hispanic here?” The crowd was filled with brown faces.

But what made it muy estrambótico was when he introduced a member of his Hispanic Advisory Council, Steve Cortes.

He confidently starts to describe him in his introduction. “He happens to be Hispanic, but I’ve never quite figured it out, because he looks more like a WASP than I do,” Trump said. “But I tell you what, there is nobody that loves his country more or is Hispanic more than Steve Cortes.”

Then he says…

“Nobody loves the Hispanics more. Who do you like more, the country or the Hispanics?” Trump continued. “He says the country. I don’t know. I may have to go for the Hispanics, to be honest with you. We’ve got a lot of Hispanics. We love our Hispanics. Get out and vote.”

Whole he did say lots… he only mentioned his Cubans and Venezuelans… noticeably missing were his friends in Mexico, Puerto Rico, Guyana and the Dominican Republic. Go figure.

Christian Dior’s ‘Sauvage’ Cologne Ad Sparks Outrage From Native American Community [Video]

Street Style - Oslo Runway 2019 - Fushion

Source: Christian Vierig / Getty

It is clear the staff at Christian Dior needs some sensitivity training. Their newest campaign has some colonizer undertones that are making people uneasy.

Hypebeast is reporting that the luxury brand has decided to pull their newest advertisement for their Sauvage cologne. Intended to be “an authentic journey deep into the Native American soul in a sacred, founding and secular territory” the clip features Johnny Depp in what is to be assumed to be sacred land. Next, the actor picks up a guitar and starts strumming the iconic “Rumble” riff made famous in Pulp Fiction. The music sends a Sioux Tribe member into dance.

Aside from what could be perceived as another the case of the White man taming the indigenous people the name of the product in question only adds to the insult. Unfortunately, the fragrance’s name is a direct translation to savage which is seen as one of the highest offenses to Native American people.

According to the press release that accompanied the visual, Dior worked with “consultants who are enrolled citizens of the Comanche, Isleta and Taos Pueblos and the Pawnee Nation, with years of experience fighting cultural appropriation and promoting authentic inclusion.”

Clearly, the intended mark was missed as the clip faced backlash with claims of using racial tropes and culturally undermining the progress Native Americans have made to protect their legacy.

You can view the misguided promotional effort below. The ad has since been pulled in the wake of the outrage.

Protests Continue In Puerto Rico, Boricuas Demand Head Ass Governor Resign [Video]

US-PUERTO RICO-PROTESTS

Source: ERIC ROJAS / Getty

When it rains it pours. Puerto Rico is once again going through another crisis that can alter the island’s future forever.

As reported by The New Yorker La Isla Borinqueña is fighting the biggest fight of their life since Hurricane Maria in 2017. On July 13 Puerto Rico’s Center For Investigative Journalism uncovered some very offensive and down right racist texts sent by Governor Ricardo Rosselló. The messages ranged from proposing a Puerto Rican born New York official should be beaten to suggesting that the commonwealth would be better off if the San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz would be shot. His crass conversations amounted to 889 of printed pages.

Yesterday citizens took to the streets to protest in effort to get Rosselló out of office. An estimated 50,000 locals flooded San Juan, the island’s capital.

Their voice was also heard in the United States as protests were organized outside The White House and at the Grand Central Terminal station in Manhattan.

Since then Rosselló has refused to resign but said he would not be seeking reelection in 2020. He did state that he would step down from Puerto Rico’s New Progressive Party though. In the wake of this scandal Gerardo Portela, the principal investment officer of Puerto Rico’s economic development bank has walked away from his position. “Unfortunately the events in recent weeks, including the attitudes reflected in the comments of officials and advisers of the current administration, do not match my values,” he said in formal statement.

Naturally our President didn’t waste the opportunity to make things even more awkward. Once again Donald Trump used his Twitter account as the vehicle to tout himself as the good guy.

The Legislative Assembly of Puerto Rico is now moving to impeachment as they have reportedly have contracted three lawyers to prepare a report citing the overwhelming evidence.

Headbaaannnd?: Soulja Boy Tells Gucci To “Suck My D*ck” [Video]

Source: Soulja Boy Magic Convention 2012 at Mandalay Bay Convention Center – Day 1 Las Vegas, Nevada – 20.08.12 Featuring: Soulja Boy Where: Las Vegas, Nevada, United States When: 20 Aug 2012 Credit: WENN Uploaded By Godspeed

Even though some of his Rap peers have folded and started wearing Gucci again Soulja Boy is staying ten toes down on the boycott. At a recent performance he told the company exactly how he felt and then some.

As spotted on TMZ Big Draco made it clear he wants all the smoke with the luxury fashion house. While on stage for the High Times Dope Cup in Adelanto, CA the rapper stopped his set right in the middle of his song “Gucci Bandanna”. He proceeded to remind the crowd, and himself it seems, that the retailer is still on the cancel list.

“Hold up. F*** Gucci! Gucci cancelled! I almost forgot. They racist as f***!. Yeah you know they f***ed up! They put out that racist ass sh*t with that blackface sh*t. Ni*** f*** Gucci on my momma! On my momma I’ve spent over a million dollars on Gucci in the last 10 years! F*** Gucci ni***; next song!”

His call out is a direct response to Gucci’s infamous blunder during Black History Month. In February they featured a black sweater where the turtleneck portion can be rolled to cover the mouth only to reveal red lips. The garment resembled blackface which not did sit well with people of color or anyone with any cultural common sense for that matter. Gucci has since apologized and announced new programming that will allow them to be more diverse.

Soulja proceed to finish his performance without issue. You can view the clip below.

Even though they plan to make good on their ill-fated turtleneck Gucci is on the defense. They have provided their stores specific instructions on how to handle any issues.

TMZ is reporting that the Italian brand has issued their retail staff a guidebook on how to deal with “disruptive behavior.” Their updated security protocol details examples including filming, attempting to conduct a video prank, protesting, shouting, knocking over merchandise, playing loud music and or using hostile language. “Individuals may be coming into our stores to express their concerns or looking for a reaction, and it is important to be extremely cautious, empathetic and focused on de-escalation in the current heightened situation.”

The document also instructs the steps their workforce should take to resolve any issues on site. “Your safety is most important. Be sure to alert team members, SM and LP immediately if your safety is of concern and follow security protocols, calling 911 if needed. ALWAYS FOCUS ON DE-ESCALATION. NEVER ENGAGE IN A VERBAL OR PHYSICAL ALTERCATION WITH A CLIENT.” They also provide scripts on what their associates should exactly say if confronted.

Recently CEO Marco Bizzarri met with Dapper Dan and other members of the community in Harlem. The luxury goods company has committed to changing the culture at their corporate offices including adding five more designers of color to avoid any further moments of cultural insensitivity.
