Ludacris was the latest guest on Musicology with Tim Kash on Quibi and spoke on how his hit single “Move B***h” has grown new legs as a protest anthem.
“The crazy thing is Hip Hop started as the foundation fo trying to tell our stories,” Ludacris began. “We always have come from struggle and since Hip Hop has started we always had a struggle with the police.
“They are singing ‘Move B***h’ and never thought in a million years that would be a protest song. It makes sense now but that’s not what I was thinking when I wrote it obviously.”
Ludacris would also acknowledge how fans have gravitated toward Kendrick Lamar’s “Alright” and the history of singles from artists like N.W.A.
“When you start getting into movement culture that’s a whole nother thing,” Luda added.
