Shaquille O'Neal Believes Clippers Need to Trade Paul George

The Los Angeles Clippers will begin the season as a healthy team. Kawhi Leonard, Paul George, and newcomers John Wall are set to show they are the best team in L.A.

Speaking with ESPN, George let the media know about the hierarchy of their team.

“Everybody says, ‘Kawhi [and] you are 1 and 1, [or] 1A, 1B.’ I’ll publicly say, I’m the 2,” George said. “Kawhi’s the 1, I’m the 2. So that part we nipped in the bud. Like there’s no ego when it comes to that.”

Both George and Leonard are looking to stay healthy during the season and deliver the first title in franchise history to the Clippers. Their opening test will be against their hometown rival Los Angeles Lakers in the opener on Oct. 20.

Kawhi Leonard & Paul George Planned Their Clippers Teamup At Drake’s Los Angeles Home

Drake Let Kawhi Leonard & Paul George Use His LA Home For Contract Talk

The NBA season is about half-way done, but that doesn’t mean we can’t still learn how the Clippers landed both the “fun guy” Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.

In an interview that was published Wednesday (Jan.15), George spoke with ESPN about his decision to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder and go home to Los Angeles. It was revealed that with the help of the Drake, PG, and his longtime friend Leonard was able to link up and discuss him joining the Clippers.

After Kawhi led his Raptors over the Golden State Warriors in the 2019 NBA Finals, Leonard decided his time in Toronto was up and opted not to renew his contract.  During his stint in free agency, Kawhi stayed at Drake’s Hidden Hills mansion, where he ultimately decided to bring his talents to Clippers by July. He eventually convinced his new squad that if they want to have any chance of securing the chip, they need to bring over Paul George as well.

The story also details the phone call from Leonard that George took privately while eating dinner at Catch LA. PG’s high school best friend, Alex Johnson, detailed that night the call came in:

“I knew it was something. Something big. Because I can kind of tell with him. He gets quiet, looks around because something is on his mind.”

Sources told ESPN that George and Leonard worked together to get the deal done and met at Drake’s posh crib at least three times to hammer down contract negotiations. George broke down why joining the Clippers was more than just about playing basketball, but being close to home and his mom who suffered a stroke.

“Growing up in Palmdale, I knew I loved the game,” he said. “I didn’t know how far it was going to take me. What I wanted to get to in my career is being back home. Being close to my people.”

You think Raptors fans are happy to hear this news?

Whether you’re a Playstation person or an XBOX extremist (we swear it sometimes seems to be reaching democrat and republican rivalry these days), no one can front that Playstation collaborations with Nike tend to outshine your average limited edition drops that hypebeasts drool over.

This time around the Nike Paul George 2.5 silhouettes got the Playstation remix and what was created was something that only OG gamers will recognize and truly appreciate. Donning the grey colorway of the first generation Playstation, the kicks also feature the four colors that made up the OG logo and buttons featured on the controller.

Speaking to Nike, Paul George admits that he still enjoys kicking back and mashing buttons on his game systems when he’s not on the court smashing his competition.

“Before, I played video games just because it was fun,” George says. “Now I do it because that’s how I relax. I need an exit from reality sometimes, to get away, to be in a different place and different moment.”

Who says video games are for kids?

Check out pics of the Nike PG 2.5/Playstation kicks below and let us know if you’ll be checking for these when they drop on December 1st.
