While Kanye may be working on becoming a different person this year, specifically one that’s less politically-controversial after news broke that he’ll officially retire that ill-received MAGA hat, we doubt Mr. West was banking on giving up his previous identity altogether. Well, at the very least he wasn’t counting on someone forging his signature on docs to perform during New York Fashion Week, as was the case during a recent performance booking for the Phillipp Plein show.
He’s not performing at any fashion show this season. Just a rumor https://t.co/QcnO1ObEnC

According to TMZ, someone who ‘Ye previously did business with approached Philipp Plein behind his back and booked Kanye for an upcoming performance during the brand’s event for New York Fashion Week Men’s next Monday (February 11). However, Kanye had absolutely no idea about the show, as his wife Kim Kardashian West made publicly clear via Twitter (seen above). Read on to see how TMZ breaks down the whole ordeal:
“Plein apparently fell for it hook, line and sinker, and they made a deal wherein Kanye would supposedly pocket 7 figures and, in return, he would perform at the NYFW show.
It gets worse. We’re told the guy forged Kanye’s name on the contract and then had a $900,000 advance wired to an account … which the guy promptly cleaned out.”
The unidentified person at the center of all this is reportedly a former friend of Kanye and past associate of G.O.O.D. Music. We can only hope that Plein had some sort of insurance to get his hefty down payment back, or at the very least homeboy gets caught before he can spend it all in one weekend.
This is a wild report that we hope gets settled fairly and dealt with promptly. Who’s the real victim here? Let us know your thoughts over on Facebook and Twitter!
