The story of Nicki Minaj’s husband Kenneth Petty’s status as a sex offender is taking another turn.
TMZ reported Thursday that Kenneth Petty is attempting to have his name removed from the registry on a technicality.
According to reports, Petty claims he was never given the chance to oppose the risk level assigned to him and alleges that someone forged his signature before the hearing as he was incarcerated during the time.
As a result, he was labeled a level two sex offender and his name was placed on the Sex Offender Registry for at least 25 years. He now plans to fight the ruling. Petty stated he never got notice of a hearing about it back in October 2004 while he was incarcerated.
The filling also claimed whomever signed Petty’s name also forged that he would not be attending the hearing. So, according to documents, Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty claims he never got his constitutional right to due process.
The record has affected him in numerous way from humiliation to financial loss. Petty was arrested last year for failing to register as a sex offender.
Nicki Minaj has always defended her husbands actions against fans who have criticized her choice to marry a sex offender.
