Today, diamond-certified three-time GRAMMY® Award-winning hip-hop luminary Future formally details his highly anticipated new project MIXTAPE PLUTO. Continuing Future’s prolific game-changing 2024, the mixtape event of the year is set to be released on September 20, 2024. Pre-save/pre-add the mixtape here

Today Future also details an exclusive run of merchandise and physical product available for MIXTAPE PLUTO at freebandz.com, now available for pre-order. Items include bundles with limited edition t-shirts, a CD, and two vinyl variants in both black and green.

Additionally, Future continues to give fans a glimpse into the world of MIXTAPE PLUTO with the release of a new teaser for the song “TOO FAST.” Future has been igniting a frenzy across social media over the past few weeks in the run-up to the project’s release, previously sharing clips for various tracks across the mixtape, including hints of collaboration with Travis Scott.

Check out the “Too Fast” preview HERE

Earlier this week, Future wrapped up a sold-out arena run with Metro Boomin, the critically acclaimed WE TRUST YOU TOUR. The run saw the two superstars traverse across North America – including historic nights at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, Atlanta’s State Farm Arena, and Los Angeles’ brand-new Intuit Dome. Billboard called the show “a testament to how deep Future’s catalog and bag of hits really iswhile GQ celebrated the fact that “two great albums and a rejuvenated live show confirm Future’s powers are as strong as they’ve ever been.”

Appropriately titled, the tour was in support of Future and Metro Boomin’s explosive, chart-topping collaborative albums released earlier this year: WE DON’T TRUST YOU and its follow-up, WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU. The albums highlight the duo’s magnetic chemistry–which Rolling Stone calls “seamless”–and went on to capture the entire music industry’s attention, piquing competitive interests in ways not seen in years. The albums officially landed Future his ninths and tenth number 1 albums on the Billboard 200, while the single “Like That” featuring Kendrick Lamar spent a blistering 3 weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. This run became, as Billboard stated, “the biggest story in rap.”

And now, with MIXTAPE PLUTO, Future continues to shape the sound of hip hop as a new chapter is written in the career of one of rap’s most inventive and influential wordsmiths.  A body of work stripped down to pure unadulterated Future, it’s simply Pluto at his core essence. It’s MIXTAPE PLUTO.

SOURCE SPORTS: Cleveland Guardians’ Tyresse Turner Drops His Dirty South Centered Playlist On Black Baseball Mixtape

unnamed 1

This week’s MLB playlist comes from Terrance. California born utility man for the Cleveland Guardians organization, former USC star Tyresse Turner. The switch hitting right hander was recruited to the Guardians’ High-A Lake County Captains before being shifted to the Lynchburg Hillcats, hitting .238 with 23 RBIs and 30 stolen bases with both teams that year.

This year, the 24-year-old Turner took his talents to the Double-A Akron Rubberducks(another Cleveland Guardians affiliate) and back to Lake County, where he now boasts a .250 batting average, with 25 RBIs including four homers in 68 games. Turner was mainly used as an infielder in his first year, playing all positions except first first base for the Captains and the Hillcats, but was switched to left field and utilized as a designated hitter half of his time on the field for the Rubberducks and the Captains in 2024.

Even as a West Coaster, Turner still has a Dirty South musical taste, with heavy NoCap, Gunna, Rod Wave and others from South of the Mason/Dixon. He still reps the Golden State with some Nipsey and Buddy collaboration flavors. It’s a plenty lengthy array of Turner’s favorites, so check out the playlist courtesy of the good people at Black baseball Mixtape!

SOURCE SPORTS: Washington Nationals’ Marquis Grissom Jr. Drops His Playlist On Black Baseball Mixtape

Screenshot 2024 08 02 at 12.40.23 PM

This week, Washington Nats’ pitcher Marquis Grissom Jr., son of 2X All Star and World Series champion Marquis Grissom Sr., has decided to share his musical taste courtesy of Black Baseball Mixtape.

Grissom Jr., who is currently the Nationals organization’s #28 prospect, pitched his entire first full season as a closer for Single-A Fredericksburg, racking up 11 saves while earning a 2.18 ERA with 39 Ks in 41 1/3 innings. He opened 2024 in the High-A Wilmington bullpen and moved up to Double-A Harrisburg after dominating the South Atlantic League.

The 6-foot-2 RHP shows average velocity around the 92-94 mph range, but can run his fastball up to 96-97 too. The standout pitch, however, is easily his low-80s changeup. Not only does the pitch get solid separation from the average heater, but it also fades nicely to Grissom’s armside, leading to some funky swings by left-handed hitters. He held lefties to a .448 OPS during his time with Wilmington, compared to .550 for righties.

As for Grissom’s audible palate, the L.A. born/Atlanta-bred righty doesn’t really go for too many commercialized artists with the exception of Future and Metro Boomin, preferring artists such as Detroit’s Veeze and Cash Kidd, as well as Philly’s Argo and Alabama favorite NoCap. Check out his short but solid selection of hits below courtesy of the good people at Black Baseball Mixtape!

‘No Ceilings 3’ Hinges on Nostalgia from the Mixtape Weezy Era

'No Ceilings 3' Hinges on Nostalgia from the Mixtape Weezy Era

Oh, the nostalgia! For true fans of the culture, Lil Wayne has finally dropped his highly-anticipated project, No Ceilings 3, hosted by DJ Khaled

The New Orleans legend gave us a solid, 20 track project that clocks in at a little over an hour and takes us back down a road so many of us remember extremely well. Starting with small teasers from DJ Khaled on Instagram.

“The mixtape game seemed to be a dying art and since I’m one of the pioneers of the craft, and it played such a big part in my career, I felt it was only right to resurrect it,” Lil Wayne told Complex “Also, it’s a lot of songs out here I wanted to kill my way!”

The project gives fans a few interesting features and guest appearances from top tier artists like Drake on “BB King Freestyle” and Atlanta’s Young Thug on “Out West.” He also brings on board, newcomers Hoodbaby and Euro. Wayne also enlists Young Money family Gudda Gudda and Cory Gunz. In a proud dad move, Wayne taps in his sons Young Kam Carter, Lil Tune, and Young Carter on “Kam,” “FL4M3$” and “Hollywood” respectively. And the youth don’t disappoint. Easy to tell they’ve been groomed by one of the greatest to ever do it.

Lil Wayne continues the tradition of rapping over popular previously “used” beats and follows its two predecessors from 2015 and 2009. For this installment of the series, we hear the New Orleans rapper jumping on cuts like the late Pop Smokes “Dior,” “Shake the Room” and “For the Night,” Drake’s “Laugh Now Cry Later” and Travis Scott’s “SICKO MODE” to name a few.

Wayne initially announced the project in August 2016, by confirming that both No Ceilings 3 and Tha Carter VI were on the way. There are also rumors buzzing of other projects on the horizon, including a new Nicki Minaj album, The collaboration “I Can’t Feel My Face 2” with Juelz Santana, and even a follow up to Collegrove 2 with 2 Chainz

Last week, Wayne was hit with felony weapons charges that stem from a discovery on his private plane in 2019, which could land him jail for 10 years if he’s convicted.

Only a couple of months ago, Lil Wayne was under fire for his seemingly strong allegiance to President Donald Trump. And if nothing else, he added a little fuel to the fire with the lyrics, “Workin’ on my demons, that’s beautiful Bae off that Reisling, she’s super loose I’m smoking, she says pass it, she’s doing to much Haven’t done my taxes, f—ing with Trump”

No Ceilings 3- Track list

2. “B.B. King Freestyle” featuring Drake
3. “Lamar”
4. “For the Night”
5. “Something Different”
