Chance the Rapper Partnered With Lyft For Free Downloads of Album

Artists linking up with companies to help promote or push their albums is nothing new. Friday (July 26), Lyft announced it partnered with Chance the Rapper offering free downloads of his “debut studio album” The Big Day.

The promotion which kicked off on that Friday will run till August 31. Lyft users could get their free copy of the album by opening up the menu in the app and clicking on notifications. A link — which was available until Monday, July 29 11:59 p.m. EST  —  offering the free download will be there. Once you tap on the link, you enter your email, and a confirmation email will be sent to confirm your subscription to receive the link. Chance spoke on the promotional giveaway stating on the company’s website

“I want as many people as possible to have access to my music.”

While Chance is looking at his first no.1 album on the Billboard 200, none of the downloads will reflect towards his album’s chart performance. This is not the first time Chance, and Lyft has come together. Back in October 2017, the “All We Got” rapper hosted an episode of Undercover Lyft which benefited his art nonprofit, The New Chance Fund.

Austin Schumacher, Head of Culture and Entertainment at Lyft spoke company’s second collab with Chance:

“After working with Chance the Rapper to create an episode of Undercover Lyft in support of Chicago Public Schools, we were excited to continue our collaboration by partnering on his first official album with riders and drivers at the center of the experience. From cassette tapes to passing the aux cord, music and driving have always gone hand in hand, and we wanted to create a new in-car experience. We’re thrilled to partner with Chance again, and to continue supporting artists who share our values to highlight their work and the causes they believe in.”

Kim Kardashian’s Partnership With Lyft Will Help 5,000 Inmates Get Free Rides to Job Interviews

Kim Kardashian has been continuing her prison reform efforts and it seems to be paying off.

The reality star held a press conference at the White House alongiside, Donald Trump to discuss her initiative to help thousands of inmates get back on their feet once they’re released from prison.

TMZ reports that the beauty mogul partnered with the car sharing service to provide free rides to 5,000 newly released inmates to job interviews. They will also be provided with housing assistance as well as job assistance. There’s talks of a long-term plan to help with inmates for years to come.

Kim Kardashian personally visited prisons to find out what inmates need to make a smooth transition back into society. “While I have been able to offer support to some of the individuals I have met, the obstacles to success are an everyday struggle for thousands and more needs to be done,” Kim wrote on Twitter.

The largest group of prisoners are set to be released on July 19th.

This marks Kim’s second visit to the White House this year. There are probably more to come.

Chance The Rapper Goes Undercover as Lyft Driver to Raise Money for Chicago Public Schools

Chance The Rapper continues to use his blessings to give back to his community. Today (Oct. 15), the Chicago rapper appeared in a hilarious video as the lead of Lyft’s new Undercover Lyft battle, or, in other words a fundraiser to raise money for Chicago Public Schools.

For the video, Chano, who gave $1 million to Chicago Public Schools a year ago, drives some clueless Lyft travelers as he presents some healthy casual conversation and prods his genuine personality. While a few people get on, the larger part are left with the feeling that “John” is only a joyful driver.

One passenger eventually caught on and after giving a shocked expression he asked, “Do you know who you are?”

From that point, we see Chance driving about in Chicago giving us insight about his personality. At a certain point, he even uses one of his verses to do so.

“I’m only 25, but I bet I get a statue in my hometown when I die,” Chance casually tells a passenger, referencing his song “I Might Need Security.” When she asks him what the statue would be for, he says, “For this driving.” Got ’em.

The Undercover Lyft campaign promotes the driving service’s Round Up and Donate feature, which enables travelers to give to give donations. If passengers want to donate to the CPS, they can do so by selecting the New Chance Fund—which is a fund Chance The Rapper created to help support Chicago Public Schools—in the “cause” section of Lyft’s Round Up & Donate section.

Imagine if you get picked up by Lyft and the driver is Chance The Rapper. Such was the case when the Chicago MC got behind the wheel  as “John” and spoke to riders about his love of music, taking chances and charity. 

Some passengers picked up who they were riding with right away, but most, not at all.

The deception was for the worthiest of causes. If you use Round Up in the Lyft app the donated proceeds go to Chance’s the New Chance Fund which in turn supports Chicago Public Schools. And it’s legit, having recently announced they were blessing schools with even more money specifically for mental health services.

Vixen Amber Rose is putting her SlutWalk in full gear. The hip-hop model has hit up social media to encourage fans to support next month’s women’s awareness event.

Muva Rose went to Instagram Monday (September 24) to announce she’s partnered with transportation service Lyft for her annual Los Angeles celebration.

Clothing brand Fashion Nova is also putting major support behind this year’s event.

Last month, Amber hyped up her anticipation for the SlutWalk ’18 festivities to go down.

“Hey guys, it’s your girl Amber Rose and I’m just sitting here on this soft bed thinking about my SlutWalk this year. I want you ladies to come out and protest against rape culture, sexual violence, slut shaming, victim blaming and double standards. I want all the misogynistic men to be so f**king mad this year that we’re not only confident in our bodies but we’re confident in our sexuality as well.”
