New Music Fridays is back for the new year with some exciting releases from some of the biggest names in hip-hop. JID has dropped a new freestyle, NLE Choppa brought in his aunt for a new single and Playboi Carti returns with help from Travis Scott and more. 

JID – ‘30 Freestyle’

 Dreamville and Atlanta rapper JID  impresses fans with his latest freestyle titled, “30 Freestyle.” 

Produced by Conductor Williams, the two-minute track showcases JID’s impeccable lyrical skills over Williams’ boom-bap-inspired beat. The freestyle establishes JID as a force to be reckoned with in the hip-hop scene, captivating listeners with his unique flow and wordplay.

NLE Choppa – ‘Auntie Living Room’

Memphis rapper  NLE Choppa adds a personal touch to his new single “Auntie Living Room.” 

The “Shotta Flow” rapper brings in his aunt to sing the chorus of the song, adding an emotional and intimate element to the track. In the accompanying video, NLE Choppa spits his verses in his aunt’s house, creating a genuine and meaningful connection between music and family.

Uncle Murda – ‘Rap Up’

Uncle Murda continued his tradition of wrapping up the year with his annual “Rap Up” series. In this year’s edition, Uncle Murda takes on the events of 2023, delivering witty and biting verses over a sample of Phil Collins‘ hit song “In the Air Tonight.” 

The track serves as a platform for Uncle Murda to express his opinions and call out notable figures such as Diddy, Jada Pinkett Smith, Keefe D, Sexyy Red, and more.

Playboi Carti & Travis Scott – ‘Backwoods’

Playboi Carti teams up with Houston rapper Travis Scott for their collaborative track and video, “Backwoods.” 

The visual showcases the two rappers performing in a corporate building and beside a luxurious black SUV. The catchy and energetic song highlights their chemistry and further solidifies their positions in the hip-hop industry.

Lil Tecca – ‘Down With Me’

New York rapper Lil Tecca dropped the song and video for “Down With Me.” In the visuals, Tecca alternates between rapping outside next to a luxurious car and engaging with dancing women at a lively house party. 

24KGoldn – ‘Good Intentions’

24KGoldn releases “Good Intentions,” delivering a road trip-themed music video. Joined by two friends, 24KGoldn embarks on a journey through San Francisco, combining scenic shots by the beach with motivational lyrics. The track serves as a reminder for listeners to pursue their goals with positive intentions.

Big Hit & The Game

Pasadena rapper Big Hit surprises fans with a joint album alongside Compton rap star The Game, titled Paisley Dreams. 

Executive produced by Big Hit’s son, star producer Hit-Boy, the nine-track project features collaborations with Dom Kennedy and Teeflii.

YG & Stunna Girl 

Compton rapper YG teams up with rapper and reality television actress Stunna Girl for their latest single, “Stand Up.” The song samples Ciara’s 2004 hit “Goodies” and features flirtatious and sexual verses from both artists.
