unnamed 44

Today, PUMA Hoops and basketball phenom, LaMelo Ball are back to announce the upcoming release of the MB.04 sneaker. The fourth chapter in the iconic MB signature line is a masterpiece of performance and style that’s as tough as Ball himself. To celebrate the drop, LaMelo is hitting the road on a multi-city tour across North America.

The North America Melo Tour is kicking off in Charlotte the heart of Melo-mania today, on Monday, August 26th, and making stops in Atlanta (Wed, Aug 28), Miami (Thurs, Aug 29), and culminating in a grand finale in New York City (Fri, Aug 30). Throughout the tour, Melo will be engaging with local communities and youth organizations to foster community within local hoops communities via meet and greets, product giveaways, basketball skills and drills, and more. Community events will be closed to the public.

The NA Melo Tour is more than just the reveal of the MB.04, it’s a celebration of LaMelo’s rise and the impact he’s made on the game. But… one sneaker wouldn’t have been enough, so he’s dropping two! Alongside the MB.04, PUMA and LaMelo are releasing a new colorway of the LaFrancé 1:1, a sneaker that encapsulates LaMelo’s unique style with a striking baby blue hue and Y2K-inspired design elements.

LaVar Ball Says All His Sons on Roc Nation Could be ‘Explosive’

LaVar Ball has been pretty quiet since the Big Baller Brand empire came crashing down due to his business partner, however, we knew that wouldn’t remain for long. Now that all three of his sons have signed with Roc Nation, Ball is here to share his opinion.

The outspoken basketball father hit TMZ and detailed that the move could be “explosive.”

“If everything goes right, this thing can be explosive,” Ball said. “They said something I liked which is ‘Lavar, we wanna change the game. We wanna do something special.’ Now, that terminology right there means I’m supposed to be with you guys. Because my boys are special and like I said, I wanna change so it’s all good.”

LaMelo Ball declared for the NBA Draft earlier this week, which is set to put him the league with his brother Lonzo. You can hear it straight from LaVar below.

Not So Fast: Australian NBL Says Sale of Team To LaMelo Ball & Manager Not Complete

LaMelo Ball's Purchase of Australian Team Illawarra Hawks Not Finalized

LaMelo Ball and his manager Jermaine Jackson announced they made serious power move, but it looks like that deal hasn’t been finalized yet.

The Australian NBL has basically said to Ball and his manager that they have too much dip on their chip at the moment. Jackson announced on ESPN that he and his client purchased Ball’s Australian team, the Illawarra Hawks.

“We own the team,” he said. “It’s a done deal.”

In a statement, the Hawks revealed the deal has not yet been finalized stating:

“The league can confirm LaMelo Ball and his management had discussions about being involved with the club while he was playing in the NBL last season.

“At this point, we are continuing to work with current license holder Simon Stratford on a number of options for what we hope will be a fruitful outcome for Illawarra and the NBL.

“The NBL has final approval on any transfer of license, and no application has been made to date. The NBL has no further comment at this stage.”

Oh?

While under the impression the deal was done, Jackson, who played in the NBA for five seasons with the Detroit Pistons, Toronto Raptors, Atlanta Hawks, New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks explained how much LaMelo loved playing ball in the country and how welcomed he felt.

“Melo loves the Illawarra fans. He loves that community. They opened their arms to him. They made us feel like we are at home. When we started hearing about the issues they were going through, we talked about it and decided, ‘Let’s own the team.’

“He is going to be locked into his NBA career, but we are going to hire the right people to oversee everything. He wants to create the best basketball program possible for that community there.”

During his short stint with the Hawks, LaMelo only played in 12 games but did manage to average 17.0 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 7.0 assists in 12 games and had back to back triple-doubles before going down with a season-ending foot injury. His play was good enough that he is expected to be a top 5 draft pick in the 2020 NBA draft.

Bleacher Report’s Jonathan Wasserman projects that Ball be the selected with the No.3 pick by Minnesota Timberwolves.
