The 2008 NBA world champion Boston Celtics squad gutted out two seven-game series to reach the NBA Finals and defeat the Los Angles Lakers, firmly cementing the legacies of Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen. A quip by KG in where he stated that the boys in green and white ran LeBron James out of Cleveland and that the league had an agenda to make King James a champion by any means necessary has been catching a lot of heat.

KG, who stars alongside Adam Sandler in the film Uncut Gems, was a guest with the actor on Bill Simmons’ podcast on The Ringer network. Simmons, a well-known Boston stan, apparently uncorked some hidden rage deep inside Garnett’s soul after making a comment that during the 2012 NBA Eastern Conference playoffs, which is the time period the film is set in, the Heat got the better of the Celtics.

It appears that KG suggests that the league made sure that the Heat would appear triumphant in the 2012 Eastern Conference Finals after the Celtics lost four games to three. It would end up being one of the last times the Celtics would go that deep with a clear pathway to win it all.  For KG, there was real animosity between the Celtics and the Heat, especially with Allen having defected to the Heat the following season and ended up winning a chip with the squad.

Since the clip has made its usual rounds on the Internet, NBA Twitter has taken some shots at Celtics and especially KG for still holding a bitter taste in his mouth over the loss and jab at James. We’ve got those reactions below.

Kevin Garnett’s Ex-Wife Works To Have Prenup Thrown Out Of Court

Brandi Garnett, the ex-wife of retired NBA star Kevin Garnett, is seeking to have their prenuptial agreement thrown out in court. She claims that K.G. violated the terms of the agreement and essentially froze her out of millions.

The Blast reports:

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Brandi Garnett is asking a judge to combine the two proposed trials in their divorce — one on the validity of the prenup and another on the division of assets and support.

To make her case, Brandi goes into detail about what exactly the prenup called for her to receive, which she claims Kevin did not even live up to.

Brandi claims the prenup essentially stated that “almost everything would be his” and she would only receive “an initial payment of S500,000 or S1 million.”

She claims Kevin was supposed to fund a joint account that was to be worth $12 million and that she would receive half if they ever part ways. She says the account had nearly nothing in it when they separated. Brandi believes that by not funding the account, he has breached the terms of the agreement.

The outlet adds that the agreement stated that Brandi Garnett would not get spousal support but there is a temporary child support agreement of $100,000 per month for the former couple’s two daughters.

Kevin Garnett’s Estranged Wife Wants $190K In Child & Spousal Support

Kevin Garnett and his estranged wife are undergoing divorce proceedings, and it will come at a heavy cost to the future NBA Hall of Famer. Brandi Padilla is seeking $190,000 per month in child and spousal support after filing for divorce last year.


The Blast reports:

As The Blast first reported, Garnett’s wife of 14 years, Brandi Padilla, filed for divorce last July. She is seeking physical custody of the former couple’s two kids, 10-year-old Kapri and 6-year-old Kavalli.

In her original filing, Brandi said she wanted spousal and child support and in new court documents obtained by The Blast, she goes into detail about what she’s after.

According to the docs, Brandi wants $46,000 a month in child support, estimating that she will have the kids 95% of the time. She’s also asking for another $146,000 in spousal support and then another $300,000 to cover her legal fees.

Garnett has countered by requesting joint legal and physical custody and has cited a prenuptial agreement the pair signed before their marriage.

Kevin Garnett Files To Not Pay Estranged Wife Spousal Support

Over the course of his basketball career, Kevin Garnett has amassed millions and he’s trying to hold on to his coin in the wake of a pending divorce. After his estranged wife filed for divorce last July, Garnett recently filed documents to avoid having to pay her spousal support.

The Blast reports:

As The Blast first reported, KG’s wife, Brandi Padilla, filed for divorce last July. In her filing, she asked for physical custody of the couple’s two children and for the court to award her spousal support.

KG filed his response on Monday, where he is asking for joint legal and physical custody of the kids. He is also asking the court to terminate spousal support for Brandi, citing a prenup the couple signed a month before the marriage.

The couple did agree on the date of separation — they both listed “TBD” — and the reason for the split, irreconcilable differences.

Garnett and Padilla married in 2004 with the outlet noting that KG skipped the Athens Olympic Games to do so.
