One of the funniest stories to be told on camera has to be Soulja Boy’s interview on VladTV, where the “Crank Dat” rapper recounts shooting it out with a group of robbers who attempted a home invasion at his Atlanta home, but his account reveals him to be a real “soulja”, winning the gun battle with ease.
Former Xscape member and RHOA star Kandi Burress decided to give her Soulja Boy impersonation a go and used his most infamous interview to make the most hilarious reenactment of 2022.
Since the release of their latest single, “If I Get Caught,” DVSN has certainly stirred the pot and open pandora’s box for conversations on potential toxic relationship.
The group originally finished the recording of the record back in January, with the intention to release it in March. Instead, it was release this Summer. One would say it is perfect timing because Winter months are labeled as “cuffing season.” On the other hand, the warm weather season entices more outside activity that may or may not involve the cuffing season.
“You get to see this person and mentality in its boldest of thoughts,” said Daniel. “There’s something in the honesty of the song, although it may be triggering.”
It has certainly triggered some listeners and raised some eyebrows. “If I Get Caught” has also prompted a response from half of the R&B quartet, Xscape. Kandi Burress and Tameka “Tiny” Harris dropped their response and added their sauce to the pot of controversial R&B. In the chorus they sing:
If you get caught cheating
middle finger up ni**a f**k you
Both Nineteen85 and Daniel Day have shared their experiences of getting caught. While they have learned their lessons of the past, the point of the record stretches beyond toxicity.
According to the the R&B duo, (Daniel Day & Nineteen85) their forthcoming album is a story. “If I Get Caught” is only “chapter one of it” that discuss ego.
Music is timeless, but one thing that’s always evolving is how music is streamed. Those who are a part of a certain era may remember the process of burning CDs or downloading music onto the Mp3 player just to listen to our favorite tunes. In today’s day and age, music is available at the click of a button on your phone through streaming services such as Apple Music, Spotify, Soundcloud, etc.
Kandi Burruss, member of the iconic 90’s female R&B girl group, Xscape, shared a story with her followers of how her six-year-old made her age show. “So, have you ever had those moments where your kids make you feel …old?” the songwriter asked her audience.
“So my son is six, Ace, and he found a CD that somebody had gave me sitting on the shelf, and it was in the case, and he was like ‘what’s this?’” Kandi laughed. “Now, for somebody to look at a CD and say ‘whats this’ I’m automatically feeling old. I said it’s a CD and he said, ‘Ooooo it looks like a DJ thing.’” Kandi explained before mentioning that her son was so fascinated by his findings, that he stated he would keep it because it was a “rarity.”
While some fans found the story to be hilarious, others were impressed by Ace’s use of vocabulary.
“‘This is a Rarity’!!! How old is he? Come on that kid smart,” one comment read.
“Not him flexin on the vocab just to embarrass you,” another comment read.
