Janet Jackson's 'Together Again' Tour Starts with Sold Out Shows Across California

Janet Jackson is headed to Las Vegas. According to TMZ, Jackson is preparing a residency at the Resorts World Theatre.

The residency deal would launch in December with a special New Year’s Eve performance. The set of dates is expected to be short and follows Jackson passing up a set of dates in London.

Earlier this summer, Five-time GRAMMY®️ Award-winning Rock and Roll Hall of Fame®️ inductee Janet Jackson is thrilling fans with her Together Again Tour.

This tour features a refreshed version of Ms. Jackson, with new looks designed by world-renowned designer Thom Browne, a revamped stage design, fresh choreography, and never-before-performed fan favorites like “Slolove,” “Make Me,” “2Nite,” and “With You.” The 35-date run, an extension of her 2023 tour, marks the highest-selling trek of her career.

In a recent interview, iconic singer Janet Jackson opened up about her short-lived and troubled marriage to fellow singer James DeBarge, providing a rare glimpse into a tumultuous period of her early life.

As reported by the BBC, Jackson, now a global superstar, was just a teenager when she released her first two albums, “Janet Jackson” and “Dream Street.” Despite featuring a surprising duet with Cliff Richard, both albums failed to make a significant impact. Then, at the age of 18, Janet made headlines by eloping with doe-eyed soul singer James DeBarge.

Their marriage, which lasted only eight months, was annulled but not before it posed a serious threat to Janet’s burgeoning career and reputation. At the time, DeBarge was struggling with drug addiction, often disappearing for hours, including on their wedding night. Janet recalled the harrowing experience of scouring the streets for him at all hours, feeling a sense of duty to care for her troubled husband.

“I was doing the TV show Fame at the time and I’d be late for work and hold up shooting,” Janet said, wincing at the memory. “I wasn’t being irresponsible. I just felt that [James] needed me more than the show.”

Her dedication to DeBarge caused friction on the set of “Fame,” with Janet admitting she was spoken to by producers several times due to her tardiness. “I’m not sure they were that fond of me,” she reflected.

Janet Jackson Reacts To Justin Timberlake's Apology

Janet Jackson has shared the first look into her two-night, four-hour documentary event, JANET. The documentary will premiere cross-network on Lifetime & A&E in January 2022.

The teaser trailer highlights never before seen clips from her career and outtakes with close friends and collaborators like Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey, Paula Abdul, her brother Tito Jackson and Whyley Yoshimura one of her longtime dancers.

“This is my story told by me. Not through someone else’s eyes,” Jackson said at the end of the trailer. Janet and her brother Randy are executive producers on the project.

With full, unprecedented access to the global icon, JANET is an intimate, honest, and unfiltered look at her untold story. The producers were allowed exclusive access to archival footage and Janet’s never before seen home videos, along with star-studded interviews to create the definitive story on Janet Jackson.

JANET is produced for Lifetime and A&E by Workerbee (a Banijay UK company) and co-produced by AEC (Associated Entertainment Corporation). Executive Producer for Workerbee is Rick Murray. Ben Hirsch serves as Director. Brie Miranda Bryant serves as Executive Producer for A&E networks.
