Nigel Shelby, a Black Alabama teen, tragically took his own life after being teased and bullied in school for being gay. In a loving show of support, Dwyane Wade, Gabrielle Union, and other celebrities rallied around Shelby’s mother and donated funds to provide a proper memorial service.

TMZ reports:

Sources tell TMZ … the actress and NBA star are part of a group of celebs — which also includes Ludacris and Janelle Monae — donating money to help cover Nigel Shelby’s funeral. Nigel is the 15-year-old who took his own life nearly 2 weeks ago.

We’re told the effort was spearheaded by Pinky Cole — owner of the popular ATL restaurant Slutty Vegan — and “Master of None” star Lena Waithe, who enlisted their famous friends to help out.

Nigel’s mother, Camika, had said Nigel suffered from depression and struggled with his identity. Our sources wouldn’t say how much money was raised, but we know it was enough to cover the expense of Nigel’s tombstone, funeral service … and a separate amount to support Camika.

Our hearts go out to Ms. Camika in this trying time. May Nigel rest powerfully in peace.

Punch Drunk: Adrien Broner Goes Full Homophobic In Violent Rant

With a boxing career on a rapid decline, Adrien Broner is deciding to get it popping outside the ring with some good, old-fashioned homophobia. Broner unleashed a violent homophobic rant aimed at “I’m Delivert” social media personality, Andrew C. Caldwell.

TMZ Sports reports:

Adrien Broner is now threatening to attack — and even shoot — gay people in a vile new “PSA” video posted to his social media account Tuesday night.

“If I got my gun on me, I’m shooting you in the f*cking face, and that’s on God and them. I’m not playing with none of these n****s. I don’t like gay sh*t.”

It’s the latest in a bizarre exchange with social media star Andrew C. Caldwell — the famous “I’m Delivert” guy.

Caldwell has accused Broner of flirting with him. Broner claims Caldwell is lying … and claims it’s Caldwell who’s been shooting his shot in Broner’s DMs.

“[Andrew C. Caldwell] if you don’t get out my inbox before I punch the testosterone out yo GAY ASS,” Broner wrote.

The outlet adds that Caldwell is considering taking legal action.

Actor Jussie Smollett Victim Of Racist Homophobic Attack, Twitter Reacts

We would like to warn readers that the following details of a reported racist and homophobic attack on Empire actor Jussie Smollet might be disturbing to some. On Monday (Jan. 28), it appears that Smollett was in Chicago and approached by two masked men who carried out the vile act.

ThatGrapeJuice.net exclusively reports:

Details are incoming, however it appears the horrendous incident was premeditated.

For, sources say Smollett first received this chilling threat through the post.

Sources add that the 35-year-old, who resides in Chicago while filming the hit FOX series, was later attacked around 2am this morning by two men in ski-masks. Both of whom placed a noose around his neck.

He has since been taken to the Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment.

Chicago authorities issued a statement regarding the incident and said it will investigate the matter as a hate crime.

On Twitter, Smollett’s name began trending and the reactions from fans and others have been robust.

We wish a speedy recovery to Jussie Smollett and hope that he will receive justice.

Kevin Hart Apologizes for Past Homophobic Tweets on SiriusXM Radio Show

Kevin Hart’s unearthed homophobic tweets resulted in him stepping down from his Oscars hosting gig. He reportedly reconsidered taking up the job after Ellen Degeneres backed him, but ultimately decided to stay away from the whole thing.

The comedian spoke on the controversy on his SiriusXM show Straight to the Hart, which airs on his Laugh Out Loud Radio.

Kevin Hart said that he was regretful after saying words from his previously apology was “chopped up,” as per The Hollywood Reporter. “I will say this, and I want to make this very clear,” Hart said. “Once again, Kevin Hart apologizes for his remarks that hurt members of the LGBTQ community. I apologize.”

He also joked about disagreement during the segment. “I want to say that I have no problem with gay people. I don’t have a homophobic bone in my body. I want you to be happy, be gay, be happy.’ And then I say as a heterosexual male, if I can do something to stop my son … that’s where the joke starts!”

“The only clip that I have seen all over the media is the one where I go, ‘stop! That’s gay.’”

Nick Cannon Pulls Up Homophobic Tweets From White Comediennes, Twitter Says He’s Late

Nick Cannon, apparently minding the business of Kevin Hart‘s bag and not his own, dredged up a bunch of homophobic tweets from a trio of white comediennes in a bid to get the cancellation popping. But as Twitter reminded Cannon, Amy Schumer, Sarah Silverman, and Chelsea Handler have all been sufficiently checked in the past but that didn’t stay his hand.

Schumer, Silverman, and Handler’s checkered online and questionably tasteless pasts have been put through the social media blender although it is true that those women have gone on to continue working. The connection to Hart is obvious, this after some homophobic jokes of his surfaced online thus leading him to push back on apologizing for the comments but also eventually losing a cushy Oscars hosting gig.

Now that the smoke is cleared and Hart’s team are most likely securing what’s left of his career in the wake of this, Cannon calling out the comediennes comes as a case of too little, too late.
