Meek Mill Apologizes For Ringside Altercation At Gervonta Davis Fight: “I Just Gotta Step My Response Game Up!”

On Saturday, January 7th, Gervonta Davis fought Hector Garcia to defend his WBA lightweight title. Halfway during the 8th round, a ringside altercation between Meek Mill and pro-fighter Garry Russell Jr. caught the attention of both fighters, causing the fight to stop for a brief moment.

Meek and Garry were escorted out of the arena, and Meek would later take to Twitter to say that he and the pro fighter almost got into a fight, and apologized for the incident.

“Congratulations tankkk!!!,” he wrote referring to Gervonta Davis. “I almost fought a boxer telling him this fight not going 12 rounds I missed the big bomb!!!!”

In a string of other tweets, Meek continued sharing his side of the story, saying that he would “never let no petty shit escalate,” and saying that the blogs put up the video of the altercation of him reacting aggressively to Garry Russell Jr., saying something aggressive to him.

“I would never let no petty shit escalate to let somebody movie run …. I just walked away .. I came to support tank and boots!!!!!! Good wins,” Meek tweeted.

“I was nice to everybody at that fight if you was there you saw! The blogs gone put up the aggressive part after I respond to something aggressive … everybody in that section seen my level of respect towards others… i just gotta step my response game up!”

He then apologized for his actions, which he called “wasting time for nothing.”

“I have no business going back and forth that hard with a random person and we just talking about sports…so my apologies for wasting time for nothing! I had a few shots I know how to dodge those! Congrats Tank and boots!!!”

Despite the disruption, Gervonta would go on to win the fight in a 9th-round TKO, after Garcia’s side said that he would not be continuing the fight. Garcia said he got hit so hard he couldn’t see.

Gervonta Davis Viral Again; This Time He is Swinging on Ex-Girlfriend, Not Just Choking Her

In February, a video went viral with boxer Gervonta Davis choking his girlfriend at a basketball game at the Watsco Center during Super Bowl weekend.

As reported by The Source, the video was not the only thing problematic, but when the victim alerted Coral Gables police it caused particular alarm for supporters and fans.

In a video now removed from his IG, he said, “I never once hit her … yeah I was aggressive and told her come on. That’s the mother of my child. I would never hurt her.”

Now… another video has popped up, showing the lightweight boxing champ from another angle, seeming to swing at his ex-girlfriend.

In the video, pulled from the venue’s surveillance cameras, Davis seems to rear back and swings a punch at the girl before she comes out of a doorway from the courtside. Then in the scuffle, you see her pulled out and a gentleman square up against the professional boxer, almost like “what’s good.”

He was arrested that night from this incident.

Davis was charged with simple battery domestic assault.

Gervonta Davis Seen Handcuffed By Police With Floyd Mayweather’s Ex-Girlfriend

World Champion boxer Gervonta Davis was stopped and handcuffed early Thursday afternoon. Davis was accompanied by Floyd Mayweather’s ex, Yaya, known as @yayasworld on Instagram. Based on the video captured by pedestrians, both Davis and Yaya looked to be in good spirits despite being handcuffed.

They are seen laughing with the officers responsible for their arrest. If this was a routine traffic stop, they should not be in handcuffs. The ironic arrest comes a day after Davis issues a warning post on his Instagram story.

It looks like the Baltimore Boxer spoke his fate into existence because less than 24 hours later he was stopped by police. Based on his most recent tweets, Davis resumed his day shortly after he was stopped. He took to Twitter to wish Chad Ochocinco Happy Birthday.

Casanova 2x Flexes After Gervonta Davis’ Title Fight Victory: “They Ain’t Never Gonna Get This Belt Back”

New York rapper Casanova 2x is feeling like a champion right now. The hip-hop entertainer has celebrated his pal Gervonta Davis coming up victorious last night in a 12-round title fight victory.

Casa lit up Instagram Sunday to geek out over Davis putting in some serious in-ring work.

After mounted anticipation, Davis hit the ring for a 12th round TKO against fighter Yuriorkis Gamboa.

Although Davis dominated the fight to claim a vacant secondary 135-pound world title, it was a surprise that Gamboa, who is long past his best days and ruptured his right Achillies early in the bout, was able to go into the final round. Gamboa was knocked out in his two previous losses by Terence Crawford in the ninth round of a lightweight title bout in 2014 and by journeyman Robinson Castellanos in the seventh round in 2017. Gervonta made sure to speak up on his title victory and said he could have fought better.

“I believe my performance tonight was a C-plus,” Davis said, knowing he was expected to dismiss Gamboa much earlier. “It was a great experience. I’m only 25 years old. I’m learning each and every day.” (ESPN)
