BREAKING: Diddy Taken Into FBI Field Office In NYC

Sean 'Diddy' Combs Rebrands Combs Enterprises to Combs Global as Business Portfolio Expands

According to several confirmed reports, Bad Boy mogul Sean “Dddy” Combs has been taken into federal custody in New York today(September 16). Reports state that the troubled music exec was taken into the FBI field office in Manhattan.

The detainment is reportedly connected to the ongoing federal investigation into alleged sex trafficking that led to the FBI and ATF raids on his Los Angeles and Miami mansions earlier this summer.

Marc Agnifilo, attorney for Combs, stated to TMZ, “We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the U.S. Attorney’s Office. Sean “Diddy” Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the last 30 years building an empire, adoring his children, and working to uplift the Black community.” Agnifilo adeds, “He is an imperfect person but is not criminal. To his credit Mr. Combs has been nothing but cooperative with this investigation and he voluntarily relocated to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve your judgment until you have all the facts. These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”

Today in Hip Hop History: Murder Inc. Offices Raided By The Feds 19 Years Ago

Screen Shot 2022 01 03 at 5.43.19 PM

On this date in 2003, the federal government raided the offices of Hip Hop powerhouse Murder Inc., beginning a two-year-long case against Chris and Irv Gotti, who was forced to prove that their successful, multi-million dollar record label was not a money-laundering operation for Kenneth “Supreme” McGriff of Queens’ legendary Supreme Team.

Even with multi-platinum artists such as Ja Rule, Ashanti, and Lil’ Mo, the Def Jam subsidiary was still questioned about their affiliation with McGriff after Gotti funded a movie directed by the Supreme Team leader entitled Crime Partners, which was inspired by the infamous novel by famed author Donald Goines.

Following the January 2003 raid on the Murder Inc. offices, things for the crew were never the same. Gotti spent upwards of $10 million in legal fees fighting the government, the label had no distribution during the entire trial, and the war with a rival rapper from Jamaica, Queens named 50 Cent had just begun. Nevertheless, the crew dropped the Murder moniker, never waived the white flag, and stood tall against the government until they were victorious. Salute!
