Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s Seven Bucks Production Planning a Film on Ric Flair

The Rock Announces 2022 Relaunch of the XFL

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has already returned to the world of WWE. Now, he is getting ready to tell a legend’s story.

According to The Wrap, Johnson and Dany Garcia’s Seven Bucks Productions, along with Hiram Garcia, will work with Misher Films’ Kevin Misher for a film on Ric Flair.

“As a kid who grew up in professional wrestling, I idolized, ‘The Nature Boy’ Ric Flair,” Johnson said in a statement. “He was a hero to me. And once I broke into the wrestling business and began to spill my own sweat and blood – my reverence for Ric turned to respect. Because I realized just how rare and impossible it is to disrupt the wrestling business, culture and truly change the game – and that’s exactly what Ric Flair did. This project is personal, and we can’t wait to tell his unbelievable story. As always, thank you for the house, Ric.”

In kayfabe, wrestling world for those not in the internet wrestling community, The Rock is currently involved in a story with his cousin Roman Reigns and keeping the WWE championship away from Cody Rhodes. You can read more on that here.

[WATCH] Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Recalls Past Moments of Depression During Appearance on ‘The Pivot’ Podcast

The Rock Vulnerabilities, Being a Girl Dad, Future of XFL & How Wrestling Saved My Life The Pivot 1 41 screenshot

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has opened up about his history with depressing. During a visit to The Pivot podcast promoting the XFL Championship, The Rock recalled his state earlier in life, but not knowing what mental health was.

“I left school, but the interesting thing at the time is, I didn’t know what mental health was. I didn’t know what depression was. I just knew I didn’t want to be there,” Johnson said, speaking of his time at University of Miami.

The Rock also stated he encountered depression after his divorce from his wife, and now business partner, Dany Garcia in 2008. “I knew what it was at that time and luckily I had some friends that I could lean on and say, ‘Hey I’m feeling a little wobbly now. I got a little struggle happening.”

He would add how men normally keep a “head down” and work mentality, which isn’t always healthy.

You can hear it all in the episode below.

Vin Diesel Announces Brie Larson Will Join ‘Fast & Furious’ Film Serie

FP TtW4WQAA5A13

Captain Marvel is headed to the Fast & Furious franchise. Brie Larson has been announced as the newest cast member of the high-speed, action franchise. With production for Fast & Furious 10 underway, series star Vin Diesel hit Instagram and revealed Larson’s inclusion.

“Yeah yeah yeah… you see this angel over my shoulder cracking me up, you say to your self ‘that’s captain Marvel.’ Clearly there is love and laughter in this image. What you don’t see however, is the character you will be introduced to in Fast10. You have no idea how timeless and amazing she will be in our mythology. Beyond her beauty, her intellect… her Oscar, haha is this profound soul who will add something you might not have expected but yearned for. Welcome to the FAMILY Brie.”

Previously, Vin Diesel took to Instagram to try to convince The Rock to put their differences aside and reprise his role for the final Fast & Furious movie.

In an interview with CNN, Johnson said that Diesel’s post was “manipulative,” and he did not like how he brought up his children or the late Paul Walker in the post. He added that he spoke with Diesel in private and said that there “was not a chance” that he would return for the final F&F installment.

“I was very surprised by Vin’s recent post. This past June, when Vin and I actually connected not over social media, I told him directly – and privately – that I would not be returning to the franchise. I was firm yet cordial with my words and said that I would always be supportive of the cast and always root for the franchise to be successful, but that there was no chance I would return. I privately spoke with my partners at Universal as well, all of whom were very supportive as they understand the problem.

“Vin’s recent public post was an example of his manipulation. I didn’t like that he brought up his children in the post, as well as Paul Walker’s death. Leave them out of it. We had spoken months ago about this and came to a clear understanding. My goal all along was to end my amazing journey with this incredible ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise with gratitude and grace. It’s unfortunate that this public dialogue has muddied the waters. Regardless, I’m confident in the ‘Fast’ universe and its ability to consistently deliver for the audience, and I truly wish my former co-stars and crew members the best of luck and success in the next chapter.”

Dwayne Johnson Tells Vin Diesel There’s Not A Chance He’d Return For Final Fast & Furious Movie

Rock Vin Diesel Fast Five

Dwayne Johnson apparently isn’t moved by Vin Diesel’s plea for him to return to the Fast & Furious franchise.

Earlier this year, Vin Diesel took to Instagram to try to convince The Rock to put their differences aside and reprise his role for the final Fast & Furious movie.

“My little brother Dwayne… the time has come. The world awaits the finale of Fast 10. As you know, my children refer to you as Uncle Dwayne in my house,” Diesel said on Instagram. “There is not a holiday that goes by that they and you don’t send well wishes… but the time has come. Legacy awaits. I told you years ago that I was going to fulfill my promise to Pablo. I swore that we would reach and manifest the best Fast in the finale that is 10! I say this out of love… but you must show up, do not leave the franchise idle you have a very important role to play. Hobbs can’t be played by no other. I hope that you rise to the occasion and fulfill your destiny.”

In a recent interview with CNN, Johnson said that Diesel’s post was “manipulative,” and he did not like how he brought up his children or the late Paul Walker in the post. He added that he spoke with Diesel in private and said that there “was not a chance” that he would return for the final F&F installment.

“I was very surprised by Vin’s recent post. This past June, when Vin and I actually connected not over social media, I told him directly – and privately – that I would not be returning to the franchise. Regardless, I’m confident in the ‘Fast’ universe and its ability to consistently deliver for the audience, and I truly wish my former co-stars and crew members the best of luck and success in the next chapter.”

Apparently, Johnson and Diesel’s beef stems from the filming of F&F8. In an interview around the time of the film’s release, Johnson said that “There’s no other franchise that gets my blood boiling more than this one. My female costars are always amazing and I love ’em. My male costars, however, are a different story,” he wrote, adding, “Some conduct themselves as stand up men and true professionals, while others don’t.”

Dwayne Johnson Reveals He and His Family Are Recovering From Coronavirus

Dwayne Johnson Reveals He and His Family Are Recovering From Coronavirus

Dwayne Johnson took to Instagram to announce that he and his family tested positive for the coronavirus.

“I could tell you that this has been one of the most challenging and difficult things we’ve had to endure as family, and for me personally, as well,” he started. “Testing positive for COVID-19 is a lot different than recovering from nasty injuries, getting evicted or being broke, which I’ve been more than a few times.”

He continued, “The reason I feel this is different is my No. 1 priority is to always protect my family, protect my children, my loved ones… so this one was a real kick in the gut. But I am happy to tell you guys that we as a family are good.”

The actor stated that they’ve already been self-quarantined and are no longer contagious. “We are counting our blessings right now, because we are well aware that it isn’t always the case that you get on the other end of COVID-19,” he continued. “Some of my best friends have lost their parents, their loved ones, to this virus that is so incredibly relentless and unforgiving and it is insidious.”

But The Rock was able to find a silver lining in his own COVID-19 experience. He said his daughters only had sore throats.  He added, “Other than that they bounced back and it’s been life as normal. Happy babies running around and playing.”

Johnson uploaded an 11-minute video imploring people to, “Wear your mask, it is a fact, it is the right to do, it is the responsible thing to do, but also, not only for yourself or for your family or loved ones, but also for your fellow human beings… I am not a politician, I am a man who cares about my family deeply and will do everything I can to protect them, but I am also a man who cares about all of you guys.”

Dwayne Johnson joins a countless list of celebrities who revealed that they suffered from COVID-19 including Idris Elba, Tom Hanks, P!nk, and more.

He wrapped up his announcement with some precautionary tips that the CDC has been advising us to take since the beginning of the pandemic.  “Stay disciplined. Boost your immune system. Commit to wellness. Wear your mask. Protect your family. Be strict about having people over your house or gatherings. Stay positive. And care for your fellow human beings.”

I love you. You broke color barriers, became a ring legend and trail blazed your way thru this world. I was the boy sitting in the seats, watching and adoring you, my hero from afar. The boy you raised to always be proud of our cultures and proud of who and what I am. The boy you raised with the toughest of love. The intense work. The hard hand. The adoring boy who wanted to know only your best qualities. Who then grew to become a man realizing you had other deeply complicated sides that needed to be held and understood. Son to father. Man to man. That’s when my adoration turned to respect. And my empathy turned to gratitude. Grateful that you gave me life. Grateful you gave me life’s invaluable lessons. Dad, I wish I had one more shot to tell you, I love you, before you crossed over to the other side. But you were ripped away from me so fast without warning. Gone in an instant and no coming back. Im in pain. But we both know it’s just pain and it’ll pass. Now I’ll carry your mana and work ethic with me, as it’s time to move on because I have my family to feed and work to accomplish. Finally, I want you to rest your trailblazing soul, Soulman. Pain free, regret free, satisfied and at ease. You lived a very full, very hard, barrier breaking life and left it all in the ring. I love you dad and I’ll always be your proud and grateful son. Go rest high. #ripsoulman #rockyjohnson 🐐
