Ice Cube Shares Update On Contract With Black America

Ice Cube Accuses Warner Bros. Of Discrimination, Wants Studio To Surrender Rights To 'Friday' Franchise and Other Movies

On Tuesday, Ice Cube stopped by The Breakfast Club where he answered questions regarding a potential Verzuz battle and shared an update on his”Contract With Black America.”

Charlemagne asked Cube if he had any interest in doing a Verzuz battle, to which Cube replied “Not really” and added that he would not be doing a battle anytime soon. “It’s not something I’m thinking about doing, but if it comes about, who knows. I ain’t saying yeah and I ain’t saying no”

Later in the interview Cube shared an update on his “Contract With Black America” that he presented during the 2020 Presidental Election.

“We’re doing a lot of stuff behind the scenes, out of the public’s eye, because things get misconstrued when people chime in and they don’t know what they’re talking about. We’ve got some interesting things we’re going to announce as soon as they develop. I just want to take it away from all the noise being made and really get some concrete things done, instead of all this talk and trolling back and forth.”

Charlemagne then asked Cube if there was progress being made. Cube responded by saying “I see some progress being made, but the rubber’s still got to meet the road. What I learned with these companies is they talk a good game. They like to put out releases talking about how much money they’re contributing to these programs of diversity, but it’s all just press release stuff; when you really look into it, they’re doing nothing.”

Following all of the controversy swirling around Ice Cube and his reported assistance in creating President Trump’s four-year “Platinum Plan,” an old tweet from 2016 where Cube says that he’s never endorse Donald Trump has come back to haunt him.

Cube vehemently denies being partial to neither the Democrats nor the Republicans. He even said that he brought his CWBA (Contract With Black America) to the Biden/Harris, but only the Republicans actually acted on the proposal.

The resurfaced tweet has made many critics condemn Cube for even being willing to work with the Trump administration and also made it look like the N.W.A. founding member also put his foot in his mouth.

Ice Cube Responds to Critics of Trump’s Platinum Plan: ‘Dems Said We’ll Address the CWBA After the Election’

Ice Cube Responds to Critics of Trump's Platinum Plan: 'Dems Said We’ll Address the CWBA After the Election'

Social media was in an uproar when news broke that Ice Cube is helping the Trump administration develop a “Platinum Plan” for the Black community.

“Leaders gonna lead, haters gonna hate. Thank you for leading!,” Trump senior advisor Katrina Pierson tweeted at Cube Tuesday afternoon.

That’s when the dragging begun and the NWA rapper hopped on Twitter to explain his role in the deal and revealed that Trump was willing to discuss increasing Black capital right now. “Facts: I put out the CWBA. Both parties contacted me. Dems said we’ll address the CWBA after the election. Trump campaign made some adjustments to their plan after talking to us about the CWBA.”

One user criticized him for working with the “dark side” to which the actor responded, “Every side is the Darkside for us here in America. They’re all the same until something changes for us. They all lie and they all cheat but we can’t afford not to negotiate with whoever is in power or our condition in this country will never change. Our justice is bipartisan.”

Ice Cube publicly released his Contract With Black America which “strikes at the heart of racism and presents a blueprint to achieve racial economic justice.”

“The problems facing America are too deep and wide to simply reform one area or another,” the contract said. “Long-lasting solutions demand a comprehensive thorough ‘rethink’ of America so that each new approach in each area supports the success of the others. This Contract with Black America will provide conceptual approaches in several areas.”

He also uploaded a video aimed at both Presidential candidates asking “what’s in it for us?” “What’s in it for the black community besides the same old thing we’ve been getting from these parties,” Ice Cube asked. “I didn’t hear anybody mention a Contract With Black America, and I don’t know why because it’s one of the most comprehensive reform documents that have come out in a long time that can really address the problem.”

Trump’s “Platinum Plan” promises to “increase access to capital in black communities by almost $500 billion” by creating 500,000 black-owned businesses and 3 million new jobs for the black community, as well as “access to better education and job training.”
