Back in the 90s, there’s no secret that Death Row CEO Marion “Suge” Knight was possibly the most feared man in the entertainment industry. He has been placed at the center of the most controversial murders in Hip Hop and sits in prison doing a 28-year stretch on a murder charge to this day. Most people feared Suge, but according to Scottie Pippen, not the Oak Tree.

In an interview on FOX SOUL’s Choppin It Up With Oakley, former Bulls teammate Scottie Pippen talked about old times with NBA legend Charles Oakley until co-host Sasha Delvalle asked about the validity of the story that Suge wanted no problems with Oak Tree in Miami.

Judge Orders Charles Oakley & Knicks Owner James Dolan To Attend Mediation To Squash Civil Suit

San Antonio Spurs v Chicago Bulls

The saga between Knicks legend, Charles Oakley, and disgraced current New York Knickerbocker owner, James Dolan, is far from over. A judge is hoping some mediation will help bring the situation to a close.

The Daily News is reporting that the U.S. Court of Appeals has scheduled a conference call for Mar.31 that both Charles Oakley and James Dolan along with their attorneys. The goal is to sit down for a required three hours and hopefully, both parties can reach some sort of agreement sports legal analyst Daniel Wallach uncovered. But that won’t be no easy task based on recent history between Oakley and Dolan.

This all began back ion 2017 when Oakley was arrested and banned from Madison Square Garden for a year. The retired baller sued Dolan for defamation, assault, and false imprisonment following the incident that took place during a Knicks home game back in February 2017. A Manhattan judge dismissed the lawsuit last month, and the Garden did extend a peace offering to Oakley, stating: “Maybe there can be peace between us.”

Dolan also hired Steve Stoute as a brand consultant who wanted to somehow repair the relationship between Oakley and the franchise. Stoute was eventually told to fall back by the organization after he got a little loose with the lips during a taping of ESPN’s First Take, where he gassed up his role with the team.

“While Steve Stoute is a valued contributor to the Knicks’ marketing and branding efforts, he does not speak on behalf of the New York Knicks personnel and basketball operations. Any decisions regarding the operations of the team will be made by the new President of the New York Knicks.”

Oakley appealed the Judge’s decision, which subsequently led to this court order for meditation and is still letting the world know how he really feels about Dolan. Following the latest incident involving legendary Knicks superfan, Spike Lee, Oakley has described the team is being run like a “like a plantation.”

This isn’t the first attempt at mediation between the two either. Immediately after the incident at the Garden, NBA Commissioner Adam Silver set up a sitdown between both sides that featured Charlotte Hornets owner, Michael Jordan, via telephone. Jordan and Oakley are both close friends, and his presence would have been influential. Dolan had already claimed in a radio interview that Oakley was an alcoholic.

Following their sitdown, Silver claimed that “both Mr. Oakley and Mr. Dolan were apologetic about the incident and subsequent comments.” In an interview with the Daily News, Oakley didn’t agree with Silver’s statement but felt he might get an apology from Dolan directly, but that didn’t happen.

We shall see how this plays out when they finally sit down and talk again.

Charles Oakley Says Patrick Ewing Wouldn’t Work For Knicks Coaching Job

42nd Toronto International Film Festival - ‘The Carter Effect’ - Premiere

Charles Oakley was one of the top enforcers in the NBA and was a force alongside the Patrick Ewing-led New York Knicks but it doesn’t look like the pair are friends. When asked if Ewing would be a good fit as a head coach for the Knicks after the recently-departed David Fizdale, Oak doesn’t think it’d be a good fit.

TMZ Sports reports:

TMZ Sports spoke with the ex-NY star about the coaching vacancy … and, while he lists off a number of ex-Knicks who are qualified for the gig, Ewing ain’t one of them.

Why??

“Ya gotta be a different type of coach than Patrick,” Oak tells us. “I think he tried before and they didn’t hire him. So, I don’t know. We’ll see what happens.”

Also, why??

Oak was PISSED at his longtime friend for not having his back during his very public beef with James Dolan … and told us back in 2017, “I’m hurting because he didn’t call in and show love because I had his back for 10 years.”

Oak believes former New York Knicks guard and native New Yorker Mark Jackson would be a great fit. Jackson is currently an NBA analyst who once coached the Golden State Warriors.
