Today In Hip Hop History: Sheff G, Sleepy Hallow Arrested On 140-Count Indictment Against Alleged Gang Members One Year Ago

On this date in 2023, Brooklyn drill rappers Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow are of over 32 alleged gang members arrested in a 140-count indictment in New York.

According to the New York Daily News, Sheff G and Sleepy Hallow treated fellow gang members to a splurging dinner at a Manhattan steak house in celebration of a 2020 shooting executred at Prospect Lefferts Gardens that killed 23-year-old Theodore Senior and injured five mores.

In addition, one of the members was awarded with a new custom gold chain referencing the street the dead man was from. According to NYPD Deputy Chief Jason Savino, the members wore matching outfits during their visit to the steakhouse.

24-year-old Sheff G, born Michael Williams, and 23-year-old, Sleepy Hollow, born Tegan Chambers, and 30 additional gang members were connected to 27 occasions of violence, which included at minium a dozen shootings. The arrested men and women are alleged members of 8 Trey Crips and 9 Way gangs.

“Sheff G is not a wannabe drill rapper. He is a legitimate person who made it good. He has gold records, he’s made a lot of money. He rented a very large house, some may call it a mansion, in Short Hills, N.J.,” Gonzalez said.

He added, “He [Sheff G] used his fame and fortune to elevate gang violence in Brooklyn.”

The investigation began after the Gardens shooting, sparked by social media disses between G and a Folk Nation gang-affiliated rapper. The shooting was executed in partnership of 8 Trey and 9 way. Authorities revealed a text message from Sheff G’s sister Williams’ stated members of the rival gangs needed “to get hit or killed.” Sheff G asked for receipts to show the executed shooting, receiving images fo the victim and news articles.

Sheff G served 15 months behind bars on these charges before the 25-year-old Brooklynite was released from the Otis Bantum Correctional Center in the Bronx on April 19. Sleepy Hallow was released the day before Valentine’s Day of 2023 after serving only eight months behind bars.

Chrisean Rock’s Brother Arrested For Attempted Murder

According to several confirmed reports, Obadiah Malone, the brother of Chrisean Rock, has been arrested and charged with first degree attempted murder on Tuesday(December 27) in Baltimore.

Malone, who goes by “Mookie”, is accused of shooting a 39-year-old man on October 10, 2022 in Baltimore. The unidentified victim survived the shooting and Malone was later identified as the person who pulled the trigger. After getting a warrant, B-More’s Warrant Apprehension Task Force detectives arrested Mookie earlier this week.

Mookie recently called out Chrisean and Blueface, claiming they’re “the brokest celebrities in Hollywood.”

Blueface Mugshot Released After Attempted Murder Arrest

After being arrested this past Thursday on attempted murder charges in Las Vegas, troubled rapper Blueface’s mugshot from the arrest has now made its way to the internet.

Johnathan Porter aka Blueface was taken into custody in front of his girlfriend Chrisean Rock at Lolo’s Chicken and Waffles in Vegas on Thursday for a shooting that allegedly occurred on October 8th. Footage of his arrest shows Porter being handcuffed and subdued by five men in front of his girlfriend, Chrisean Rock. Eyewitnesses allege that there were at least six to eight undercover officers there parked in unmarked cars.

Additional charges include discharging a gun into a house, building, vehicle or craft for allegedly shooting into a pick-up truck. A rep for Clark County Court confirms a judge has set Blueface’s bail for $50k. He’s set to appear in court again on January 24th.

Bobby Shmurda Affiliate Fetty Luciano Charged With Attempted Murder

According to a recent report from ABC 7 NY, GS9 member and Bobby Shmurda’s pal Fetty Luciano was arrested on attempted murder charges following a triple shooting in Long Island earlier this month.

26-year-old Fetty Luciano, whose real name is Remy Marshall, turned himself in at the Glen Cove Police Department yesterday (July 21) after he was linked to a triple shooting at a mansion pool party in Long Island. Marshall was charged with attempted murder and illegal weapons possession. He’s scheduled to be arraigned later today (July 22).

According to the report, the incident took place at Glen Cove’s The Mansion, an event venue that doubles as a hotel with 187 guest rooms and suites. About 200 people were in attendance on July 10 when a fight broke out between two people before gunshots were heard coming from the front entrance of the venue.

The victims were treated at the hospital for non-life threatening injuries and released from the hospital.

“It’s a bit of a shock, yeah, it’s a surprise,” Glen Cove Mayor Pamela Panzenbeck said. “This is just a beautiful venue. It’s used for high school reunions, weddings, fundraisers, for events, and things like this don’t happen here.”

Fetty, a member of Bobby Shmurda’s GS9 collective, released his debut album Story to Tell via Def Jam in 2018, with features from Gunna, Landstrip Chip and Shmurda. He also appeared on the deluxe version of Pop Smoke’s posthumous album Faith in 2021, featuring on the song “Double It.”

Lil TJay Shooting Suspect Arrested, Rapper Remains Hospitalized Following Surgery

According to a recent report from TMZ, the alleged shooter who pulled the trigger shooting Bronx rapper Lil TJay several times, which landed him in the hospital to undergo emergency surgery, has now been apprehended and charged with attempted first degree murder.

Mohamed Konate has been charged with three counts of first degree attempted murder for his alleged involvement in the shooting that stemmed from an attempted armed robbery in Edgewater, New Jersey. TJay, whose given name is Tione Merritt, was shot multiple times and one of his acquaintances was shot once.

Both of TJay’s acquaintances were also arrested and charged with second degree unlawful possession of a weapon.

As originally reported, Lil TJay was shot several times Wednesday night in New Jersey and remains hospitalized following an emergency surgery to save the rapper’s life. The surgery was reportedly a success, as TJay appears to be doing better, however, the extent of his injuries are still unknown.

NYC Rapper Eli Fross Arrested For Attempted Murder In Times Square Shooting

An up-and-coming rapper from the Rotten Apple is responsible for a shooting that took place in Times Square earlier this week and the police have nabbed the would-be rising rap star.

Elijah Quamina, who is better known for his rap moniker “Eli Fross”, was taken into custody on Thursday after he was pegged as the suspect in the Times Square shooting earlier this week. Fross allegedly fired four shots at a motorcyclist who’d just been involved in a fender bender with the car he was riding in. No one was hit and no damage was caused.

20-year-old Fross has been charged with attempted murder, attempted assault, and criminal possession of a loaded weapon.

Fross is well known in NYC Hip Hop circles and has appeared on tracks with Sheff G, Sleepy Hallow, Jay Critch, and the late King Von.

Rapper In DaBaby’s Entourage Arrested For Attempted Murder In Miami Shooting

According to a recent report from TMZ, a rapper from DaBaby’s entourage was arrested for attempted murder with a deadly weapon and aggravated assault with a firearm following a shooting on Miami Beach.

Miami police questioned the rapper late Monday night about the hooting that left two people injured. Police say Wisdom Awute, a member of DaBaby’s entourage, fired at least one shot, striking one of the two victims in the leg.

There was anther man arrested in the shooting, Christopher Urena, who was charged with attempted murder when he was seen shooting one of the victims in the back. That victim is currently parlyzed.

No charges have been filed against DaBaby as he was released by the police the same night of his questioning.
