When Jay-Z was a no-show at Kanye West’s Donda listening party at Chi-Town’s Soldier Field in 2022, it almost seemed as if the two, who once seemed inseparable, would never reunite in that capacity. Now, Kanye at least sees things the way Hov did when he agreed with Jay’s Grammy speech last night, which still has the industry abuzz.
In Jay-Z’s speech in which he called out the Recording Academy, he said, “I don’t want to embarrass this young lady, but she has more Grammys than anyone, but has never won Album of the Year. So even by your own metrics, that doesn’t work.” He added, “Some of you might leave here feeling robbed, some of you might get robbed,” prompting laughter from the attendees.
Yeezy reposted the infamous speech Hov gave where he dragged the Recording Academy and their criteria for Grammy winners, seemingly approving of the message. This may not mean to expect another Watch The Throne sequel anytime soon, but at least Ye and Jay are on the same page about something.
