T-Pain and Lil Wayne Ignite T-Wayne Sequel Talks

Is a T-Wayne sequel in the works?

T-Pain has ignited talks of a follow-up to his collaborative album with Lil Wayne. Taking to Instagram, T-Pain shared a text message conversation he had with Weezy, who sent back a verse for inclusion on T-Pain’s upcoming album 1UP.

“You killed this shit,” wrote T-Pain. “I’m ending the album with this for sure. No beat on the last Lil bit of your verse just let that shit ring!! Thank you again bro.”

He also proposed another T-Wayne album. “And Im sure you know the world wants a new TWAYNE project *cough cough* just putting that out there,” said T-Pain.

Weezy seemed to be on board. “Luv bro!!!” he responded. “And ni**a I’m with it whenever u ready! I’m here mane!! They need MUSIK.”

The two completed their joint project T-Wayne in 2009, but the project was scrapped due to Wayne’s incarceration in 2010. “When [Wayne] got into his little trouble, that was right at the peak of when we was like, ‘OK, let’s go. Let’s do this now.’ He finally had time, then he went to jail,” T-Pain told Rap-Up in 2011.

Then on a random day in May 2017 T-Pain decided to drop the long-awaited album on SoundCloud. “This ain’t for y’all new ni**as. These the lost files from ’09 and I’m tired of em just sittin on my hard drive. #FreeC5,” he tweeted.

The 8-track project included songs like “DAMN DAMN DAMN,” “Waist of a Wasp,” and “Snap Ya Fangas.”

“It probably is meant to happen now ’cause the songs were so now,” he said in 2014. “The kind of music that people are dropping now, we was making that so long ago. I guess it was ahead of its time.”
