Grammy-winning rapper T.I. and Kanye West are making up for lost time. The hip-hop pair have reunited at Yeezy’s weekly Sunday Service music celebration.
Tip went to Instagram Sunday with a slideshow of pics hanging out alongside Kanye.
Last month, reality TV star Kim Kardashian went to her Instagram Story to reveal Kanye is “this” close to dropping his new album Jesus Is King.
Prior to promising to release Yandhi last year, Kanye stayed busy in 2018 with multiple studio releases.
Last year, Kanye West released his eighth solo album ye. He also collaborated with Kid Cudi for KIDS SEE GHOSTS and produced albums for PUSHA-T, Nas, and Teyana Taylor. In September 2018, West announced that he’d release an album called Yandhi that same month. The release date was subsequently delayed and then postponed indefinitely. (Pitchfork)
Over the past few months, Mr. West has remained committed to his invite-only gospel-driven Sunday Service events.
What has kept Kanye in the news this year is his Sunday Services, livestreamed ad hoc church worship services where he covers classic songs and converts his own hits into gospel music, choir and all. At Coachella, this also involved hawking ultra-expensive Sunday Service merch, which gave the whole ordeal an unpleasant religious huckster vibe. This past week he hosted a Sunday Service in Dayton honoring the victims of the recent mass shooting there. And now, based on a tweet from Kanye’s wife Kim Kardashian today, it appears he is going to keep rolling with that theme. (Stereogum)
