If there’s one person who deserves an award from the City of Atlanta, it’s none other than T.I.
A few days ago, the 43-year-old was honored with the prestigious Phoenix Award from the City of Atlanta for his contributions to both philanthropy and entertainment, presented by Mayor Andre Dickens, former Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, and Senator Raphael Warnock.
The beautiful moment was captured and uploaded to T.I.’s YouTube page, which boasts 4.25 million subscribers. The beauty lies in the award being presented during T.I.’s closing shows with the Atlanta Pops at Atlanta Symphony Hall. Footage of these symphony performances went viral when Tip’s daughter Heiress stole the show, performing “Live Your Life” alongside her father.
The Phoenix Award is the highest one can receive from the City of Atlanta, which makes perfect sense given Tip recently cut the ribbon on over 140 units of low-income housing in his neighborhood of Bankhead in Atlanta. He also recently hosted his 18th annual turkey drive, giving out over a thousand turkeys. He partnered with Atlanta Mission, Project Pinnacle, and Next Level Boys Academy to host three more holiday drives. This was in conjunction with his non-profits Us or Else and Harris Community Works.
On the music tip, T.I. recently celebrated the 20th anniversary of his standout album Trap Muzik, which coined an entire sub-genre of Hip-Hop.
Congrats T.I. on all your achievements!
