Khalid embarks on a new era with his Suncity EP.
Inspired by a recent trip to his hometown of El Paso, Texas aka “Sun City,” the seven soulful tracks (including an intro and interlude) mark the first body of work from the 20-year-old singer since his 2017 debut American Teen. They include the previously-released single “Better,” the stripped-down “Saturday Nights,” and a bilingual duet with Latin American songstress Empress Of on the title track.
“More than anything in life right now I want growth,” said Khalid. “I want my music to grow and represent how I am growing up. Suncity is the start of a new era for me, this music poured out of me and I didn’t want to wait to share it. I wanted to be able to live in this moment with my fans and my friends and speak from the heart.”
Khalid is now in the studio working on his highly-anticipated sophomore album, due in early 2019.
