Snoop Dogg cemented his place in Hollywood history on Monday (Nov. 19).
Four days before the 25th anniversary of his debut album Doggystyle, the rap icon was honored with his very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
Dr. Dre, Quincy Jones, Pharrell, Ty Dolla $ign, Warren G, and Jimmy Kimmel were on hand to honor hip-hop’s OG. Dre took fans on a trip down memory lane in praise of his friend. “A true diamond in the rough. Snoop is just pure raw talent. Nobody sounds like Snoop,” he said. “His style and charisma made me feel like he was destined to be a superstar. He’s got that ‘It’ factor.”

With Snoop by his side, Quincy Jones also took the podium to salute his “nephew and slender homie.” “This man is very special in my life. I would not be up at 11 in the morning,” said the legendary producer. “I’m so enormously proud of everything you’ve achieved professionally and personally too. … You are not just an artist and an entertainer, you are a visionary and you deserve this star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and every other recognition that comes your way.”
Jimmy Kimmel brought the laughs during his speech. “I know you won’t remember any of this in half an hour, but you’ve been such a good friend to me and I want to say congratulations and thank you,” he said. “If there’s anyone who deserves Hollywood’s highest honor, it’s Snoop Doggy Dogg.”
Then it was time for the man of the hour to speak. He thanked his family, friends, and most importantly, himself. “I wanna thank me for being me at all times. Snoop Dogg, you a bad motherfu**er,” said Tha Doggfather.
After unveiling his star in front of the El Capitan Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard where Kimmel’s show is recorded, the 47-year-old entertainer posed for photos alongside his wife Shante Broadus, daughter Cori, son Cordell, and grandson Zion.
Snoop’s star is the 2,651st since the completion of the Walk of Fame in 1961.
