Shia LaBeouf filed a response to FKA twigs lawsuit which accuses the actor of “relentless abuse” during their relationship.
Twigs accused LaBeouf of sexual battery, assault, and infliction of emotional distress, the New York Times exclusively reported in December.
“I’d like to be able to raise awareness on the tactics that abusers use to control you and take away your agency,” she said at the time.
Twigs allege that the Even Stevens star threatened to intentionally crash a vehicle they were riding in unless she professed her love for him. She went on to accuse him of choking her while she slept in the middle of the night, threw her against a car when she tried to get her bags, and forced her back in the car. Additionally, she claims he knowingly gave her an STD.
A stylist named Karolyn Pho also accused Shia LaBeouf of abuse.
LaBeouf’s filing states twigs “has not suffered any injury or damage as a result of [LaBeouf’s] actions.” His team is looking to have the claims dismissed and twigs cover the lawyer fees. They have also claimed “none of the acts alleged were based on sex and/or the conduct was not sexual.”
He had a different tune in his original statement. Shia told Times he was “not in any position to tell anyone how my behavior made them feel.” He also said he had “been abusive to myself and everyone around me for years” and said he had “a history of hurting the people closest to me.”
