Grammy-winning singer Rihanna is all in for Tallahassee Mayor Andrew Gillum receiving the last-minute support needed to help him become Florida governor. The crooner hit up social media to hype up tonight’s rally party.
RiRi hopped on Instagram Monday and encouraged Florida locals to pull through for Gillum and music mogul Diddy’s event.
Tonight’s festivities are set to go down tonight at Tallahassee’s Al Lawson Center.
Back in August, Gillum made history by winning Florida’s Democratic primary for governor.
The 39-year-old is the first black American to win either major party’s nomination for statewide office in Florida and the third top-of-ticket black candidate in the United States to be nominated this year, joining Maryland’s Ben Jealous and Georgia’s Stacey Abrams, who’s also running for governor in a highly competitive state against a candidate who also received Trump’s endorsement. Various musicians like rap star and Florida native Rick Ross have rallied behind Gillum.

Gillum is currently en route to cement his legacy as Florida’s first-ever black governor.
Andrew Gillum is on the verge of making history. Gillum, 39, is the mayor of Tallahassee, a husband, a father of three, a FAMU grad– and he’s vying to be the Democratic candidate in Florida’s gubernatorial race. If he wins the general election, he’d be the first Black Governor in the state’s history. For the son of a construction worker and a school bus driver, it’s a classic tale of the American dream, and a new chapter in Gillum’s ambitious political career (he became the youngest person elected to Tallahassee’s City Commission when he was just 23-years-old).
