Atlanta rapper Rich The Kid is a fan of the classics. He took a moment in a now-deleted Instagram post to reflect on some of his biggest music inspirations and all-time favorite hip-hop albums.
Big Facts
This week, Rich put big respect on rap legends of past and present. In addition to saluting a couple of Nas classics, he co-signed 50 Cent‘s Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ and JAY-Z classic The Blueprint.

Wait, There’s More
Rich the Kid’s favorite albums may have served for some inspiration in mid-March 2020, when Rich put out his latest solo album Boss Man. It came stacked with collaborations including records with rap stars Post Malone and Nicki Minaj.
Today, Rich the Kid released his new album, titled BOSS MAN, via Republic Records. Following his 2019 studio album The World is Yours 2, the new 19-track project features pre-released tracks like “Money Talk” featuring YoungBoy Never Broke Again and “That’s Tuff” with Quavo, along with guest features from Post Malone, Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby and more. Before You Go
Earlier this year, Kid shared details on the making of his album. He also explained the motivation behind its title.
“When I was working on my album, I was just feeling like I’m the CEO of my own label. It’s people that tell me what to do, like they can give me their opinion, but it’s not motherf*ckers that’s telling me what to do. [Me and Post Malone] have actually known each other for like about five, six years, when he was in Atlanta. We caught back up years down the road. Post Malone got beats and they’re fire. … I just had this song that was perfect to get [Nicki Minaj] on and then she just killed it, this monster verse. She’s like one of the first to start the wave for all the other female rappers.” (Rap-Up)
