Voice Of G, for those who don’t know who you are how long have you been making music, and what part of Miami you from?
I have been making music since 2013, however I have always grown up writing poetry and lyrics. I was born and raised in Coral Gables but , I live in Miami Lakes for now.
How did the name “Voice Of G” come about?
The G in Voice of G stands for my last name. I always say whenever I perform that everyone out there has an inner voice and they should do everything they can to find it and express themselves.
When was the time in your career when you realized that “Hip Hop” is what you wanted to do?
Growing up music has always been a big part of my life. My Parents were always involved in the choir and band at church so that environment was definitely a big influence in my life. My senior year of high school I lost a very close family member to cancer and it put me in a real dark place. Music for me, especially hip hop helped me climb out of that place and since then I’ve hit the ground running with no signs of stopping.
Congrats on your new EP “A.M.”, briefly tell us what you want fans to gain from this project?
A.M. stands for Ambitious Mortal. I consider my goals ambitious but attainable and so I want my fans to feel inspired that they too can achieve whatever they set out to do in their lives.
Is this project considered your best work yet?
This is actually my second project overall. The City mix-tape was my first project and this second project ; I feel, is more organized and complete.
Any new music or project in the near future?
I will be dropping a Money In the Grave Remix on my YouTube channel real soon and AM2 soon after.
When is comes down to the Miami Hip Hop scene, what rappers would you like to collab with?
Most definitely the two names that pop up in my head are Denzel Curry and Pouya.
What producers would you like to collab with?
I would love to collaborate with ATM, and Ronny J someday.
Our highlight questions, your definition of “Underground Hip Hop”?
For me underground means, underexposed and underrated.
Lastly, any shout outs?
Big shout out to my Peace of Mind brothers D.Tech and Exxcal who made an appearance on this project and I would definitely not be where I am at without them. Big shout out to Wxve who I believe is the hottest R&B artist here in South Florida and last but not least big shout out to my boys NachoIsGone and DarianTHC. South Florida is on the come up. This is just the beginning!
