The book world has just lost a legend. New reports claim Pulitzer Prize-winning author Toni Morrison has died at the age of 88.

According to reports, the famous novelist died last night however a cause of death is not yet known.

The celebrated novelist Toni Morrisondied Monday night, according to a source at her publisher, Knopf. She was 88 years old. The cause of death is not yet known. “We die,” Morrison closed her Nobel Prize address. “That may be the meaning of life. But we do language. That may be the measure of our lives.” (Vulture)

Georgia politician Stacey Abrams has already paid tribute to Morrison on social media.

Morrison is most known for writing books centered on the black experience including Beloved and Song of Solomon.
