According to a report from BET, an actor from the popular Power series was indicted this past Friday on weapons possession and second-degree murder charges for broad daylight shooting in NYC that left one man dead.

Isaiah Stokes, who is known for his roles on Boardwalk Empire, Law & Order, and Power, was caught by a surveillance camera firing almost a dozen shots at Tyrone Jones, 37, who was sitting in a parked Jeep in Jamaica, Queens on the afternoon of February 7.

According to prosecutors, the motive for the shooting has not been discovered.

Stokes, who was arraigned July 16 before Supreme Court Justice Kenneth Holder, is facing a three-count indictment that includes a second-degree murder charge and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree. The actor will be sentenced today and he faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted.

Stokes first appeared on the TV screen in 2006, when he appeared on the Denis Leary FX series Rescue Me.

He’s since gone on to appear in Law & Order: SVU, Boardwalk Empire, The Americans, Louie, Blue Bloods, The Mysteries of Laura, and more. His most recent acting credit was in the Starz drama Power, in which he played Mozzy in a 2019 episode of the series.
