Nipsey Hussle’s Sister Denied Emergency Custody Of His Daughter

Nipsey Hussle

Late West Coast rapper Nipsey Hussle‘s sister is going to have to wait things out. New reports claim Samantha Smith had an emergency custody request to care for Nipsey’s daughter denied.

According to reports, Hussle’s sister must wait until mid-May to have her request heard at a hearing.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, the judge denied Samantha Smith‘s request to be appointed Emani Asghedom‘s temporary guardian. The ruling stated, “No urgency demonstrated for granting this relief prior to hearing on May 14th.” The judge also added that Emani’s mother, Tanisha, must be given notice of the hearing. Smith reportedly wants to raise Hussle’s 10-year-old daughter Emani Asghedom.

Sources say Samantha believes the child’s biological mother is unable to care for the child. We’re told Nipsey cared for Emani before his death March 31 after being gunned down at his L.A. clothing store. Samantha says she has assisted in the care of Emani throughout her life and wants “to ensure the continued stability for Emani and ensure that she will be able to maintain her current and ongoing relationship” with Nipsey’s family. Few details have surfaced on Hussle’s former girlfriend and her relationship with Emani.

Emani’s mother is a woman named Tanisha, who goes by the name Chyna Hussle. It’s unclear why Tanisha has not tried to declare custody, or if she is aware that Nipsey’s sister is making a move for the young girl. As far as Tanisha being out of the picture, our sources say, “Nipsey’s sister has been in his daughter’s life for years, helping raise her.” Also, we’re told it is believed by his family that her biological mother is unable to provide “a stable environment” for the girl. Last month, Smith appeared and spoke at Nipsey’s Celebration of Life memorial service in Los Angeles.
