Suge Knight is dividing up his empire.
A day after it was reported that the former Death Row mogul had assigned his life rights to Ray J, it’s been revealed that Nick Cannon will oversee a book on Knight’s life.
In a recorded statement, obtained by The Blast, the incarcerated Knight described the multi-hyphenate star as “the most realest guy in the business today,” and said he was confident that Cannon would do him justice as a writer on his book.
He also clarified that Ray J has only been hired to handle Death Row Records and future music coming out of the label. “Ray J is the little brother and family,” said Knight, who shared his profound respect for Brandy’s brother.
Knight’s fiancée, Toi-Lin Kelly, has been called the power of attorney to handle deals for movies and TV, including a documentary on Knight and Death Row, which is reportedly already in development. She has also been placed in charge of Knight’s medical decisions.
The 53-year-old was sentenced to 28 years in prison after pleading no contest to voluntary manslaughter last year, but has taken issue with critics describing it as a “life sentence.”
“I’ll be home before you know it,” said Knight, who could be released in a little more than 10 years.
