Hollywood actor Nick Cannon isn’t here for Yeezy’s tough talk. The hip-hop artist came forward this week to address getting singled out by Kanye West for allegedly disrespecting his wife Kim Kardashian.
Cannon went to his Instagram page Thursday (September 20) to send well wishes to Yeezy and let him know no one dictates what he says in interviews.
“So I just landed in Houston, we sold out the tour, Toyota Center tonight but I just got word. First off, let me say welcome back Ye from the Sunken Place. Glad you’re back with us brother. Nothing but love and respect for you. You know I’ve always had that but honestly I gotta say this my dude, I’ve never said anything disrespectful or harmful, in my opinion, to your marriage or your union. I salute it. Keep it going. But you’re not going to tell me what I can and cannot say. I’m a solid individual. If somebody ask me a question, I’m going to answer it to the best of my ability. Ain’t no harm, no foul. I know it got your spirit feeling weird. Holler at me. You know where I’m at. A man’s spirit is free but pride binds it at times. If you gotta let that loose, let it loose. I’m gonna let the train go by like you said. [laughs]”
Cannon also extended his hand for Yeezy to come through and kick jokes on his “Wild ‘N Out” show.
“So again, I guess this is the way we communicate now in 2018 via social media. I guess we don’t use phones no more and all that, just saying to my man Kanye. The 200th episode of Wild N’ Out is upon us. Setting records. Record-breaking. Sold out that Toyota Center right behind us tonight in Houston. You’re more than welcome [to come\. Let’s talk about it, man. It’s all love. Like I said, I ain’t say nothing disrespectful but we can have a good time with this. It can be more Mariah jokes. Kim jokes. All that. You done came and took the comedy championship belt a couple times. Come back for that 200th episode. We can get to it because in all seriousness, I’ve got nothing but love for you but I’m always going to speak my mind. Just like you always speak yours. Not you, not NBC, not no corporate structures, no one is ever going to control what I say because I speak truth always.”
A few hours ago, Kanye released a series of clips going at both Nick and rap star Drake for disrespecting his wife.
“I just wanted to express some things that were not sitting right with my spirit. Uh, now that I’m up out the Sunken Place I can think and just be Ye and express how I feel. There are a few things that I want to address. First of all, I want to address Nick Cannon. I understand that you used to date my wife but you’re doing an interview, don’t mention my wife. If someone brings my wife up you say, ‘Hey, I respect that man. I’m not speaking on that.’ Don’t be making no suggestions like ‘Nobody f*cked my wife.’ Now the next thing is, yeah, I told you that if I wasn’t in a medicated state I would have the thoughts to – hold on this train going by – now if I wasn’t in a medicated state I might have thought [to say] ‘Hey Pusha, don’t diss Drake,’ and I spoke about that and took accountability for that.”
Kanye also told Drake he felt a certain type of way about Drake not addressing rumors about possibly having slept with Kim in the past.
“Now what I’m looking for, for my spirit to take accountability is the fact that there’s people making rumors or thinking you f*cked my wife and you not saying nothing and you carrying it like that. That’s not sitting well with my spirit. If I had a girlfriend from Chicago named Rahneeda and you were married to Rihanna, I wouldn’t make no song called ‘RiRi.’ So when you’re like, ‘Ah, I don’t know where it come from,’ you’re too smart for that bro. You know where it come from. Don’t make no record with nothing to be confused. Now I done told you I didn’t tell Pusha no information about your baby, baby mother, nothing like that. That didn’t come from me. But when you played that record for me in the studio that said ‘Yo, we got some Kylies, we got some Kendalls,’ I told you Travis is your man. Don’t make no record like that. That man just had a baby, it’s going to be offensive.”
Ye’s direct issues with Drake and Nick reportedly stem from Travis Scott‘s “Sicko Mode” song and Cannon recently hinting at the 6 God possibly sleeping with Kim K in an interview.
Another “clue” was found in “Sicko Mode,” Drake’s collab with Travis Scott (Kylie Jenner’s boyfriend), where the Toronto rapper says: “I crept down the block / Made a right / Cut the lights / Paid the price.” According to the theory, those are the directions from Drake’s house to Kim and Kanye’s. As the theory gained traction, Nick Cannon, who dated Kim Kardashian in late 2006, discussed its possible validity on Complex’s morning show “Everyday Struggle” with DJ Akademiks on Friday. “I think Drake smashed Kim K,” Akademiks said. Cannon replied that it’s not “that far off of a concept.” (Harpers Bazaar)
