It’s about to be litty.

At least that is what the consensus is for many weed-smoking New Yorkers who have been anxiously awaiting the legalization of Cannabis after the governor’s State of the State address.

Governor Andrew Cuomo said, “For decades, communities of color were disproportionately affected by the unequal enforcement of marijuana laws.” He further said, “Let’s legalize adult use of marijuana.”

“Legalized marijuana program could bring in $300 million a year in tax revenue, and billions of dollars more in economic activity when fully implemented, though that could be years away.”

Well, baby steps are better than no steps. The governor is looking to learn from other states like Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Connecticut about what they plan to do with their emerging cannabis laws.

Cuomo also has a desire to have the New York’s state university system set up to conduct additional research on marijuana and its effects.

New York University has several studies that they have conducted on the effects of cannabis on baby boomers by researchers at NYU School of Medicine and the Center for Drug Use and HIV/HCV Research (CDUHR) at NYU Rory Meyers College of Nursing and how cannabidiols might be used for to treat Epilepsy & Other Neurological Disorders.
