Miguel joins Benny Blanco and Calvin Harris on an updated version of their single “I Found You,” retitled “I Found You / Nilda’s Story.”
Over the stripped-down instrumental, the R&B crooner reprises Harris’ lyrics, which take on a powerful new meaning, inspired by the current immigrant experience in America.
“I cannot say what I’m feeling / If I don’t know how to move,” sings Miguel. “I cannot say what I believe in / Finally believe in you / I traveled many roads / And I know what road to choose / Now my world is never changing / There’s anything I can do.”
Taking to social media, Miguel explained the message behind the track. “The song was inspired by immigrants,” he said. “Very proud to be supporting immigrants struggling in the US w benny blanco & Calvin Harris. I FOUND YOU/NILDA’S STORY is out now.”
The original “I Found You” appears on Blanco’s debut album Friends Keep Secrets, which also features Ty Dolla $ign, 6LACK, Halsey, and Juice WRLD.
